After I watched SalC1’s video I couldn’t get it out of my head so I started looking into it more and ended up here. And I have to say, OldLadyNorth, you have to be one of the bravest modern people I’ve heard of. To see an evil going on and then not only decide to do something about it, but spend months subjecting yourself to the psychological damage of going undercover in order to bring some form of justice is downright badass. I wish for your sake and that of the victims that reporting the abusers let to real life justice, and I’m so sorry it didn’t. After seeing so many people call you psychopathic or disturbed, I came to a different conclusion. This was an act of love. I think you did the most difficult, heartbreaking thing out of love and protectiveness for the victims. To be the type of person that cares about not hurting others and has actions online weigh on you, and to still go in there. To still subject yourself to viewing the discord chats from abusers, to play nice with them for hours on end until they consider you a friend, to see the good sides in the other people around them and truly care about them because they are so complex, to know the whole time that if you had met some of the people in different circumstances your interactions could have been a wonderful thing, and still have the guts to pull the trigger at the end for the hope of greater good. Even though it hurts you, even though you’ll have to bear the burden of having hurt people on purpose forever. Many people I think see what you did and marvel at the harm you did to innocents. But I wonder if the truth is that in that group, there were bad people and those who tolerated the actions of bad people. In that case, are there really innocents? Or are there just groomers and cowards? But of course that doesn’t take away from the fact that they’re all people, does it. That normal people do cowardly things sometimes, and that when you get to know them they’re still wonderful in other ways. That it’s entirely possible to form a bond with someone and wish so badly the situation was different, even though they’ll never forgive you for what you’re about to do. I see you, and I hope that should I ever be in a situation like you were I have half the guts you did.

Alot of the worst acts in history came about because of the actions of a few, who where surrounded by innocent people who chose to look the other way.

Anyone who stayed in a group like that was not innocent. Something very similar to this situation happened on a Minecraft server I was on, it tore the entire group and server apart. I was a child myself at the time and didn't fully understand what was going on or how truly inappropriate it was. Now as an adult, I look back and see how heinous these people act around literal children. They may not ever touch a child, but to act the way they do while pretending it's normal is beyond disgusting. You did nothing that was not right or just. Your conscious is clean. You quite literally did the Lord's work. I'll dm you on Reddit about what happened with us and how we dealt with it so you know you are not alone, I'd love to hear your thoughts and let you know things do get better.
