Years ago my uncle and I looked at these flybarless heli setups that were just beginning and thought how cool they were, I come back to the market 5 years later and they're out as the main stream heli's for the last 2-3 years.

I love how the flight starts out kinda like "Hmm, I'm not really sure how to fly this thing.,," and then all of a sudden becomes "Psyche, I can fly the crap outta this thing!". :)~

Hi! Yes, you can obtain flight insurance through the Academy of Model Aeronautics. It comes as part of their annual membership. The fee is around 60-65 bucks a year annually I believe. You get a bunch of other benefits as well, not just the insurance, so you'll want to look into all the details. Membership also gives you access to thousands of flying fields around the country (club fields may charge you a member fee) and the ability to fly at big events. Search modelaircraft d-0t org.

Damn blade brother... I thought Allen Szabo was good but you are a tremendous operator! I have a blade 400 with a 440 motor all aluminum and carbon fiber. Aside of the flybarless part I dont see the difference in flight. But forced to buy a 450 since the 400 is discontinued. Thanks. Your video helped make my decision.

I like the blades closer to canopy

I have clearly been living a sheltered life. I had no idea that flying like this was even possible. Not sure that it is for me, but WOW. I was forced to abandon RC around 1988 when an electric 'glider' with the flight characteristics of a brick finally defeated me. Recently a silly coaxial helicopter (Syma 107g) that I bought as a joke has enticed me back. VERY useful reviews guys, have bought both the Ares Chronos 110, and the the new Ethos on the back of your reviews. Please DO review the Blade 200 SR X as soon as you can because, with its flight stabilisation, it has me seriously interested as a potential next step. Thanks again, Richard from the UK.

The 200SRX is still a fixed pitch helicopter, so you won't be able to do any 3D with it. There are flybarless units that offer self-leveling for collective pitch helicopters, if that's what you're looking for. Check out the IKON or Bavarian Demon 3SX.

Best review I've seen yet! How are the servos on it holding up? I've heard some unkind things about the servos.

You really never completely lose an RC Heli unless it flies away or something like that. In a crash you just taker her apart and replace the broken parts and put her back together and go back out flying. The hobby shops carry most every part you might need to replace on a crash and helis are really easy and quick to repair. Sad that many hobby shops in the USA have given up helis.

Is this something for someone who's new to 3D? I've only flown 2 and 4 channel helis before, and is it possible to learn flying 3D with something like this, or do I need something different first?
@forrest22510 жыл бұрын
From what I have read, the larger helicopters usually fly better, however I have also heard that the nano cp is so light that if you do mess up, it often will not break. It should certainly be possible to learn on it, though a sim may be worth the money if you don't have one already.
@wiz123ful10 жыл бұрын
forrest225 I have tried 3D flying on simulator, and it doesn't look too difficult to learn. It looks like I might be buying something smaller and cheaper to begin with anyways though. There's a very cheap Esky 500, do you think that's anything to have? It says it works for learning to fly 3D and is fully 3D capable. I guess it doesn't have as much power, but it's like 1/4 the price of a 450 sized.
