You can also put a guage right on the regulator on that port on the front of it using a cheap adapter. That saves having to add than 2nd AN connector with a port on it. Great videos - really appreciate them!

It's not to read vacuum. It's for boost reference to add pressure in relation to boost. Thanks for watching!

Only Problem is I can't have any fuel lines on my firewall. How far from the carbs can I be with the regulator? I'm thinking of going all the way to the front then up to the front of the motor. I don't have any place to mount the regulator up by the blower. Can I put it on the frame and run a 24in long line up? What kind of pressure drop will I see on acceleration? This is for my 57 Blown SBC 750hp dual 750s

First time watching your channel. Dude! I hope you don't take this wrong but you're the Bob Ross of car how to. I just happened on your channel because I'm doing the same thing on my 55. You should butterfly your adel clamps for the fuel lines(looks better) and on the vent put a standoff or spacer where the filler tube attaches and secure it there. Good install though.

Hey, Newbie here. I recently bought a EFI conversion and I’m pluming my regulator like how you did. In- out and return with only one line on the fuel rail. I made brackets and got the regulator and filter mounted and then I seen the regulator bypass plumbing diagram in the instruction manual. My question is will I end up with the same result?

@rogerbelcher29813 ай бұрын
I plan on doing something very similar to this on a 69 Chevelle but I plan on using the factory 3/8 stainless steel hard line for the fuel supply and ptfe hose for return. My question is to go from tank to hard line can i use a compression fitting to 6an or just use hose clamps at the hard line and an fittings at the intank pump.
@2carpros3 ай бұрын
I've seen people use the compression fitting to 6AN but I've never used them. In my opinion it is tough to trust since it was only ever designed to handle 8psi or so. I like to just use the 6AN from the pump all the way up so I know the fittings won't ever have a problem. Thanks for watching!

This is my first time hooking up fuel for boost and motion race works is saying that you always put the regulator after you put the fuel to the rails. They said if you put the regulator before the fuel rails that's the last couple cylinders may not be getting the proper fuel after hitting the first five or six. They're saying each injector takes pressure and by the time it gets to the end of the rails you will have lost pressure but if you put the regulator after that it's fine. I copied you but yet I'm still so confused because everyone saying do it differently.
@fuelbasti Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the upload. Iam still confused about the regulator. My 350 with 650cfm and 320hp is low in pressure I think. What regulator makes sense? Bypass? Back line? Dead head? Want just have a in and out to the carb. Possible? Thanks
@2carpros Жыл бұрын
Yeah just have a line run from the fuel pump to the regulator, regulate down to 8 psi, run the return to the tank, then run the pressure line to the carb. All done. I'm assuming you have a pump in the tank like this setup. Thanks for watching!

@jesseveazey230 Жыл бұрын
So how do you run lines with dual tanks I’m having a problem with this do I need 2 of everything?

No. You just run a send and return from the tank to the regulator and then one line out the send of the regulator to the injectors. Thanks for watching!

@bluethunder1951Ай бұрын
Not what anyone on a budget would do, looks like a ton of fittings to cause potential leaks. The fuel filter could be on the regulator with a hard fitting, as could be the gauge, and having soft host from tank to regulator is dangerous for pinch points or rubbing causing leaks. Only thing I learned here was to buy from Summit.

First off merry Christmas from the Mississippi Delta! So question...why did you cap off the rail closest to the regulator and route the feed line further away? Is there a space issue behind the closer rail that we can't see or is there another reason?

Can I route this setup for a 327. Edelbrock has a max rating of 6.5 on its AVS2. However, I live in the southwest and want to monitor PSI with weather conditions. Let me know your thoughts, thank you!
@2carpros Жыл бұрын
Yeah definitely! You just might want a smaller gauge capacity so the resolution of the gauge is easier to see. You also could go with a way weaker fuel pump if all you need is 6. Thanks for watching!
@jamieK1112 жыл бұрын
Hey Ryan - love the videos! With a return line, diagrams I have seen put the bypass regulator after the fuel rails so it's controlling the pressure in the rails as fuel is consumed, and the guage is seeing the rail pressure. Pump -> rail1 -> rail2 -> regulator. Do you get any problems running it before?
@2carpros2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching! I don't see a problem running it that way, just seems a little more complicated. As fuel is used the pressure drops so the regulator will let more in for our set up.

AN (Army/Navy) is just first number of 1/16 increments. 3 =3/16”, 6= 6/16” so it’s a 3/8”, etc.

That FP gauge under the hood is cute but worthless for any real diagnostics. You should replace it with a fitting with a schrader valve like ALL factory fuel rails have so you can connect a pressure gauge with a hose you can read outside of the engine bay. One you can see while driving. As a tuner the #1 problem I see on swaps is fuel delivery problems. You can have perfectly fine FP when idling with the hood open to see your pretty little gauge but have low fuel pressure while driving and at WOT when the fuel demand is high. I see too many times on swaps there is no way to hook up a real diagnostic FP gauge.

What a screw up. This way is not right , pressure gauge is mounted on the out let side not the inlet . Also the reg has a out let on the front for the pressure gauge. don't set up your fuel regulator this way your wasting your money and time.
