That's the structure of the show, it tells people about the history of Korea and the people of Korea. You'll be able to find similar stories all over the world as long as it didn't happen too far back in history. I'm from Sweden, and part of the country was part of Denmark before, and there was war between Sweden and Denmark for centuries. However, it was so long ago that there are basically no stories remaining, even though there were centuries of war. Some events from the wars are documented, but no stories from the people. The difference here is that the stories they tell in 2D1N are about the people. It gives you a better emotional connection. It is because these things happened much more recently. In two generations or so, many of these stories will be forgotten. That's why I really appreciate this program. Because it further documents and tells people about the stories. I personally really dislike studying history, but being told the history like this is enjoyable, because it's mixed with entertainment.

I'm from Belgium, we are a small country that is indepent since 1830 so the history I learn was more about the history of Europe - the birth of Romulus and Remus, the monarchie of France, the world wars ...). But I never find myself more enthusiast learning about history than with 2D1N ^^

I remember watching the highlight special where Kim Jongmin said he felt the most comfortable with the season 3 members. I can see how they vibe with each other too. YES! Season 1 is fun but can be a bit strict and tiring because of Hodong. Season 2 vibes is just so weird, members hating on Sikyung for being posh especially Sugeun, and Jongmin fought with him all the time too, like REAL fights. In season 3 all the members are just so chilled and down to earth, seniority is never an issue and they really grew more into family with every episode. I used to dislike Defcon too in early episodes for being a try hard to the point that it's cringey, but he's more relaxed and going with the flow now. He's still a little bit extra but that's just his personality so that's ok.
