what exactly do they think that catch would solve? if a shooter (the bad kind) has to keep taking off the upper to drop the mag why wouldnt they just snap off or remove that arm blocking the mag release before they do there crimes criminals file serials off guns cut the barrels shorter and all sorts of illigal mods before they do there crimes
@johnnybbgunner21363 жыл бұрын
There are shooters that did not completely close their upper receiver leaving it cracked open. They were then still able to chamber a round and fire the round causing their upper to crack from the blast. Not doing it and went featureless for now.

california compliancy 2019-2020 to be legal in order to reload your weapon must require you take out all the pins seperate the upper from the lower remove no less than 22 drift pins from inside the lower holding the mag in place solve a rubiks cube cure cancer and dial the premium rate number to have a technician come out to unlock the magazine with his specialised key before you can take the magazine out

The “Cross Armory Safe Mag” will auto drop the mag once you unpin the upper. They also make “Quick Pins” similar to what your showing here, as well as a floating front pin. I found their entire “Cross Armory” CA compliant solution to be the best on the market albeit expensive. On the plus side, Mag changes way faster compared to using a now evil Bullet Button.

The company that makes it is called patriot pin. They have a new model with a couple new features on it, the patriot pin 2.0, if you haven't already, you should check it out. You should also get their front takedown pin as well, it's made out of delrin just like the rear one is ( I'm not sure if the first model like you have in the video has a rear takedown pin made out of delrin or metal ) but it's genius because you don't want metal on metal opening and closing it every 10 rounds, it will wear out the lower and upper eventually and become sloppy.

Thanks for the video! I'll be using it as a reference when my kit comes in a few days!

I suggest going featureless. There are grips and stocks that can replace the pistol grip and then you can have a regular mag release - way better than all of these extra steps and wear and tear on your gun. There are a few other things to make it featureless so look it up. The grip is by far the one to get right and probably the one most people hate, but there are some good choices out there!
@toamaiusdvignir94686 жыл бұрын
I always ask people that if you are unsure, or do not know don't say anything. In the simplest terms, in order for your rifle to fixed magazine per our laws and it's language, your action must be disassembled before you can drop the magazine. So if you can drop magazine while your rifle is assembled(pins are in and gun is in a ready to fire in a semiautomatic state) you are not in compliance. They so expanded "assault weapons" definition to include the ability to drop your magazine with the aid(use) of a tool to include bullet buttons. So if your rifle is in an assembled state and you can use a tool(remove your magazine locking device) without first having to first disassemble (open your action) you are not in compliance. I say stay away from locking devices that can be removed without opening the rifle. Because it is nothing more than a sophisticated bullet button. It will be up to a judge to decide that and if you are unlucky the judge will be a gun grabbing liberal. Rear pins aren't compliance parts, they are compliance accessories. Nothing needs to be permanently attached at least not in California. Good examples of compliance items that can be easily removed while in a free state and installed before coming in to a communist state are, CompMag Hogue Freedom Fighter These items are installed internally with a single hex screw. No way to remove them while gun receivers are assembled. No one could argue their legalities. Oh and no Loctite is needed. The AR Maglock that is in this video may be possibly fixed mag if you red Loctite and round off the bolt head so a tool cannot be readily removed. This however is an external installation and might come down to a judged interpretation. There are no official compliance documents or approval of devices. Just the vague language "(b) For purposes of this section, “fixed magazine” means an ammunition feeding device contained in, or permanently attached to, a firearm in such a manner that the device cannot be removed without disassembly of the firearm action."

The Kingpin from AR Maglock is a much better solution. Just push your kingpin button with your right thumb and the mag release button (AR Maglock Gen 4) simultaneously and your upper pops open automatically (only about 1/8") and the magazine just drops out. It's the next best thing to having a stock AR setup. It's genius and I love it.

There's a MUCH better solution than this set up. Juggernaut Tactical makes a Hellfighter mode that is clean and simple. LWRC owners already have half the kit on their release button. Only have to pop it up 1/16th of an inch (if that much) with a push of a button and it catches it right there, much less than that mag release he has which is slower and exposes the trigger to the environment.

Of all the people who own these things, I seriously doubt if anyone of normal sanity wants to take it to a schoolyard and shoot a bunch of kids. And if one or two decide to do that, they'll find a way, because there's no one at that school to prevent that. They have the only gun in the place and if they want to drop their upper to reload, they'll have all the time in the world to do it.
