I recently purchased a complete DPMS LR308 lower from FIREARMS UNKNOWN” in Yuma, Arizona. attached a 24” 308 win upper and took it out for a test. The hammer strike was extremely light and the rifle would only shoot about 20% of the steel case rounds the first time through. It shot brass about 60% first time through. The lower came with a “BLITZKRIEG” trigger group. The hammer spring was extremely small and couldn’t be replaced with a fully grown spring. I installed a CMC 3.5lb trigger group and my rifle now eats EVERYTHING…steel as well as brass, without fail!

That trigger by BLITZKRIEG is trash. Weak springs and a ripoff. Bought one, wasted $120. They don't do returns so now it's sitting at the bottom of my unwanted bin of parts.

With Hardened Arms, expect huge tolerances. Usually the anti-walk junk screws aren't needed. In this case, use them. Three and a half pound pull.

This is great insight…any thoughts on Palmetto State Armory uppers? I have two of those as well…Hardened arms went under…

@@HuntsvilleHunter Palmetto State has really let things go. Unfortunately. They've become sort of a clearing house for blemished goods and parts that their manufacturers rejected. The business has grown so fast that QC went out a long time ago. I can only guess as to what their products are like today but if you wrote them, I'd guess they'd send you a bunch to review. Good luck!!

Thanks for the kind words, You do have to “retrain” your finger on the ease of pull…it’s amazing and crisp. I believe I had a 6lb pull on the stock trigger and it was an adjustment.

Awesome video! I noticed that your trigger has the exact same amount of play as mine when the safety is engaged. At 10:00 you pull the trigger while the safety is on and there is a small amount of travel once you attempt to pull the trigger. Is this normal? My worry is that the small amount of travel when on safety will reduce the pull weight when it’s switched to fire mode. Meaning if it’s a 3.5 lb trigger but I press the trigger a bit while the safety is engaged it would then turn it into a 2.5 on trigger because there was that small amount of travel. When watching the installation video on the cmc channel, their trigger clicks and springs forward when pulling trigger with safety engaged. Mine is doing the same thing as yours. I called cmc and they didn’t have an answer. Said they would get back with me but I never heard back from them. Any input is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hey Matt, there will always be a pinch of travel while on safe, regardless of the manufacturer. Here’s why…look at the safety latch of any AR (which is mass produced by various manufacturers). Notice the notch in the middle of it that blocks the trigger from moving….its impossible to be “flush” where no movement would occur. Trigger companies get veeeeeeery close…but that’s the best they can do. Hope this helps.

Is there a reason you re-inserted the safety before adding the pins/screws to the trigger assembly?

@@HuntsvilleHunter “what my budget allows” dude maybe instead of dropping the money on a trigger that can shoot better than you, you should drop the money on some decent glass and decent parts that won’t crack like cast chinesium. Keep having your Fudd poor-man mentality but I guarantee you that you shoulda stuck with the mil-spec trigger that came in that lower. Also there really is no explanation for that scope mounting abomination.
