2G0 Travel Ferry MV MALIGAYA Manila to Cagayan de Oro Day One Departing Manila

In 2019, whilst in the Philippines, we decided to try 2Go Travel's ferry St Francis Xavier from Cebu City back to Manila. We took Cabin Class with ocean views and with a private shower and toilet, with blankets and towels provided. The journey was satisfactory and pleasing. The MV MALIGAYA was offering Business Class accommodation. Thinking that this would be an upgrade from Cabin Class on the previous ship we elected to pay the extra.
WELL, WE WERE BITTERLY DISAPPOINTED!!
There were no private showers and toilets. You had to share showers and toilets with the hundreds of other Business Class passengers where there were only three grubby and mouldy showers, including with no screen for privacy. The toilets were despicable!!
You had to purchase your own blankets and towels and toilet paper.
There was no ocean views if you had a four bed Business Class cabin.
The cabin had a dirty floor with black hair strewn about.
The cupboard doors had no knobs, so an attendant was not able to get the lifejackets out in case of such an emergency.
The food barely made it past atrocious!!
The ship left four and a half hours late which meant that we left in the evening.
But at 8.00 pm a 2Go guard ordered all passengers inside from the outside open deck which meant that nobody was able to enjoy sailing out of Manila Bay.
The same thing happened when we approached Cebu City at night. Once again we were all ordered inside and we could not enjoy the ship entering Cebu City.
I have never experienced this on any ship that I have sailed on in my life!
Consequently all passengers were required to endure the sound of the karaoke bar, which was placed alongside the Business Class accommodation making sleep impossible until the karaoke bar closed at midnight.
Needless to say I will not be taking 2Go ferries again, even though I love taking ships. We flew back to Manila from the Visayas.

Yes maintenance is always an issue. being sent down from the outside deck at 8.00pm to being stuck inside was not appreciated. I don't know if that has become 2Go policy for all of its ships because I will no longer sail on 2Go ferries if that is the case. I do like traveling by sea however.

Philippine ports are still way behind their Asian counterparts. I was in Hong Kong 2 years ago and was very impressed with their port infrastructure. The boarding was so easy because the bridges leading up to the boat entrance were level to the atrium. It was also very wide and airconditioned. Same goes to the ones in Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia, and Japan. Although I can say that the Philippines has improved compared to its port infrastructure in the 80's and 90's, it needs more focus on passenger convenience and safety.

Barado cr at super delay sa arrival schedule. Isipin nyu nalang ang expected date/time of arrival sana namin is dec.12,2022@6pm pero hanggang sa ngayon nasa barko pa kami. Sabi ng ilang crew na baka abutin pa kami ng dec. 13, 2022/2am. Umalis kami ng manila port last saturday 4pm pero ang time schedule dapat ay 1pm. Tapus dumaan pa ng batangas port, para sakin hindi sya recommend lalo na sa mga nagmamadali sa byahe.

I showed our cabin accommodation. But it was the second cabin because the first cabin that was allotted to us was dirty with long black hair on the floor and the cupboards had no knobs to open them. So we asked a 2Go member to open up the cupboard which kept the lifebelts and she could not do so! So what happens then in case of emergency. The toilet block and the showers for business class was disgusting with mould on the walls etc.

I used to work on ships so I know my way around the ropes and anchor chains etc. I enjoy wandering around these areas.

Me too 2go really disappoints its passengers No. 1 cr doesn't function Cr are very few Food is not delicious and only few servings No free water to drinks you need to pay 30pesos for 500ml

And much more! Everyone had to go inside the ship at 8.00pm and heavily policed. Hair on our 'Business Class' and no knobs on the cupboards so no access to the lifebelts. Loud music disturbing all the passengers in Business Class. No sea views if you are travelling with three or four. Showers and CRs were dirty unkempt and atrocious with long queues. Very little seating on the open deck. I love travelling by ship in the Philippines but I won't go on 2Go ferries again, especially the so called new ones.

hindi na strikto sa byahe ngayon sir, halos normal na.. nka ilang ulit nKo nka byahe cdo to manila vice versa. wla nang hinahanap na kung ano pa kahit sabihin natin na eroplano pa yun. mas lalo na sa pagbabarko hindi nman siksikan mga tao.
