Valve lost a one in a generation genius. Firing Yames is like firing Ricky Gervais. Is there any way the community can get together and petition to have this guy back? He is over the top, hilarious, offensive at times but a hell lot more entertaining than his replacements.

Anyone got a feeling that Icefrog and Ali could be the same person? Remember the whole thing with some Valve member some years ago coming out about what's happening in Dota HQ within Valve regarding someone by the name of "Ali" being the new Head of Dota or something?? and how he left because this "Ali" guy being the new head was really douchey or something?? anyone? But yeah, the main reason for this whole thing is CHINA. Chinese censorship on language and the whole porno thing, chinese media is shit basically, and the fact that James was not properly informed by Valve. It's lol. Ofcourse, anyone who doesn't understand the backstory and context can point out how "unprofessional" James is when it comes to his language and way of speaking but really, you need context. So, in conclusion really, misunderstanding, no actually, more like the whole event being so stupidly unprofessional. The fact that you decide to hire someone knowing what they are asking for and even telling him to be "himself" (here i'm playing off the fact that "icefrog" and "ali" guy are the same person) and not even giving the host some sort of information regarding what they want from him, like are you serious? Sure, James isn't professional at all regarding his language and the fact that it's a big event involving millions but you cannot NOT blame the stupid Valve for being so unsure and unprofessional by not even having a simple guideline for someone like James who in the Casting world of esports is KNOWN for being a chap with witty, satirical and uncensored sense of humuor. The communication between the employees and employer is what was the problem here and the coincidence being that this was under Chinese media sphere, it made the whole situation that much more severe for Gabe to personally address things publicly.

initial impression: as Gabe said he is an ass, on top of that he lacks sufficient eloquence or vocabulary to formulate an opinion that even sounds sophisticated, never mind the validation of such an opinion. Thorin at least may talk some smack but you certainly can't deny his intelligence or knowledge and all that he says and does is in good jest. Valve made the right decision, shame they didn't make it sooner
