He has a special way of harmonizing with himself in the backing track. This arrangement slowly builds to that legato high, then gently lets us down. Wow.

This is the third piece in a row that he's done without showing the harmonizing Geoff's. Those covers lent themselves to the lonely feeling, Jack's Lament, Blue Christmas and then this one Obviously it's easier to produce and edit, but I hope he brings the clones back. This is somberly beautiful. Have you reacted to his solo High and Dry (RadioHead)? While Wicked Game was requested by his Patrons, High and Dry was for himself done after he had done Shenandoah for his wife Kathy. Last year + 2 months he did Till Then, a WW2 song told from the perspective of a soldier going off to war and asking his love to wait Till Then when he returns. Ain't No Sunshine is also great.
