💔 He was a great talent. They all were. But as someone who loved Glee, I imagine when you see QT you must get a pain similar to what I feel when I see Corey Monteith or Naya Riveria/Finn and Santana. (It's a whole other ball of mess with Puck/Mark.) It's so strange how, in a way, they live forever long after they're gone. 💖 At least Michael Cuccione got to live his dream, touch millions of lives, leave behind an under-rated legacy, and go out while he was still on top. That's a lot more than most of us will ever get to say.

When they were on the music channel, I taped their episodes, most of them. Since I didn't have cable, the clarity was very fuzzy, so there's no fear of me uploading them onto the internet. I actually loved this show for the tongue-in-cheek jab at the whole boy band phenomenon. I've even bought the tv movie that's on DVD and their 2 cds. Yeah, I'm too old, but I liked them, so there!

The youngest one Michael, who played QT passed away 15 years ago at age 16 of pneumonia. He actually had cancer, and had been battling that. he was sick a lot and after he died, the show didn't go on any longer.

A parody like this would never work today because pop singers in 2022 are self-parodies. Sure, we knew the boy bands and pop singers in general in the 90s were largely fake and contrived and lacked any kind of soul or originality, but they were innocent, fun and unpretentious. Nobody was pretending to be a "serious artist." And more importantly, they could actually sing. Sure, autotune existed, but it wasn't necessary all the time and those singers could actually sing live. I knew we were in trouble with boy bands like the Jonas Brothers decided they were "serious artists," because they could play 3 chords on the guitar (or just pose with one) and started wearing pants that would make the Bee Gees blush. Lame, stupid, corny, yes. 90s pop music was all of those things. But you have to have had a blackout for the last 20 years to slam them today, given the Disney boy bands we've had since then. But how do you make fun of One Direction? They're self-parody. These guys were a parody of a boy band and they could do something 99% of real boy bands today can't - actually sing. Pop singers today are almost the equivalent of Milli Vanilli. If you can stay in tune for half the song or learn to make a noise roughly sounding falsetto and you have a 6 pack, you're in the "band." I used to mock boy bands endlessly in the 90s for daring to call themselves "bands" because they didn't play instruments, but I think I owe them an apology after the last 2 decades. When a parody of a boy band can sing better than 90% of the crap today, something is very wrong.
