I loved maining Lucario but he certainly has his faults. I miss seeing him on thumbnails though, especially with Tsu! I hope they change up his aura and up special someday.

To anyone who hates Lucario for his high aura kill power: half the roster can take stocks at ridiculously early percents. Some examples: All the heavies, puff, pichu, falcon, ness, mewtwo, little mac, mario, doc, belmonts, luigi (not only the 0-death) Mii swordfighter/brawler, dlc characters in general, nearly every top/high tier fighter, ........... Lucario getting some love when hes badly injured isn’t the end of the world ok?

I love Prodigy as a player, but this is definitely one of those times where you can see the gap between his Mario and Dark Wizzy's, and it really is mostly inexperience, patience, and match-up knowledge. He's still super crisp. Where he's going to find high level Lucarios to get experience from, I have know idea.

It reminds me of the differences between Wizzrobe and N0ne as Melee Falcons. Wizzy is way more conservative and patient while n0ne goes all out and takes big risks and looks super flashy.

Im new on ssbu and i’m trying to main lucario, i do think luc vs mario is a bad matchup, isn’t it? Cause i struggle in lvl 9 cpu, he happens to be faster in short attack, spin attack, and in poking with fire. Any tips?

Blue Charm I am a Lucario main who doesn’t play in tournaments but am probably in the middle of elite smash players, so hopefully my advice can be somewhat useful. I think first you shouldn’t play again cpu because it is just too different from playing against real players. Real players have certain habits you can exploit which is especially important for hard hitters like lucario. Mario’s spin and bair beats all you ariels everytimrz If Mario spams ariels a lot you can either: - anticipate his jump, jump toward him before he does and do a fast fall nair. I find it useful against a lot characters who rely on jump. - move around on ground and use ftilt, dash attack or grab to punish landing. Ftilt is quite useful if he lands with nair. - use aura sphere to hit him in the air - do a mixture of running away to charg aura sphere and approaching with nair I think these are the keys to playing neutral with lucario against mario. When Mario uses fireballs in the air you can: - if he’s far just dash away and shield it. There’s not much you can do. - if he’s close try to move forward and hit him to up air; or dash behind him, then you can do anything like grab or dash attack - double team when he’s at kill percent. I agree with you that it is a bad matchup for lucario so keep playing against a mario when you see one!

What was that at 9:32? The fireball hit Lucario and the aura sphere disappeared but Lucario didn't flinch. And if the move had armor then the aura sphere wouldn't have disappeared. I'm confused right now

Lucario got hit by the fireball and flinched. If you charge anything in any Smash Bros game for 64 to Ultimate while you get hit, you need to charge it fully again. But if you roll or shield, then you keep the progress of the charged attack weapon.

Lucario’s aura f smash/command grab are bs. Aura f smash killed at 55% and 57% two separate stocks, and aura command grab got another stock at 94%. Stronger than ness’s back throw. I get that he’s both a snowball and comeback character; but for comparison his gimmick seems stronger than Arsene, joker’s comeback gimmick, partly because aura doesn’t go away until he loses the stock. So aura snowballs more than Arsene. Arsene similarly has crazy strong but slightly weaker smash attacks, but he doesn’t give joker broken f throw. I think lucario is underrated

Terry feels like a closer comparison to Lucario, getting access to his really powerful moves only after he takes a lot of damage. My early impressions are that Terry's top-tier; he has that really powerful mechanic without the massive drawbacks that Lucario has at low percentages. Lucario will never be a character that fits well into the tier list. He's just so volatile.

I know they aren't planning on nerfing certain characters but Mario is the only one that can do two up airs into a fair... It's broken. And Luigis combos cyclone and up b are broken too. There's very little balance in the game other than counter picking a high tier against one it is weak against or has a sword...

I don't understand a nerf to either character. Both are decently balanced. Mario is stubby but once he gets in can do good damage, luigi is pretty much the same.
