For those that didn't know, while in Japan, MR R and Hikaru practiced for hours the week before civil war. They both had ample time to learn each other. Hikaru was probably confident going in because he was winning a lot of the friendlies they played.

A Falcon got 2nd, Link 3rd and DK 7th, Marss outplaced Nairo against all ods, ZeRo got 49th losing to a ZsS, Leo got 65th, there were no Sheiks, Diddys or Clouds at top 8 and Dabuz won a súper major... this is easily one of the best and most important smash 4 super Majors ever!!! 1st Rosalina-Dabuz 2nd FALCON-Fatality 3rd LINK-T 4th Bayonetta-CptZack 5th ZsS-Marss 5th Rosalina-Kirihara 7th DK-Hikaru 7th Ryu-not Trela xD i doubt we will ever have anything like this again.

People bitch so much of Sheik not having KO power and rage mechanic being BS, but I wonder if they've ever considered how annoying it is to reach over 90% consistently and not getting a single hit in. Using a heavy you need to be very patient, that's why we barely ever see any in top 8 or even top 16 in a super major.

if you dont enjoy dk's playstyle then dont play him? im pretty sure there enough people who like abusing rage, i do because i dont have to press that many buttons, but i cant deny that its an unfair mechanic somtimes. and when i do get a hit make sure to make it count. if you want to combo then play sheik.

As much as I like seeing Donkey Kong, the one problem I have with his design is that he's essentially a one-trick pony. He has that one single reliable kill option, which is the ding dong. Take that away from him and he'll no longer be of any relevance at all. And Donkey players will fish for it all the time, because it's really their only option. From a design point of view, that's pretty sad.

Wrong. Ding dong is by far DK's best tool, but it's not the only thing he has by a long shot. His back throw kills at the ledge, cargo back throw can kill off the top, tipper jab is a kill confirm into sweetspot up tilt, back air is one of the best pokes and edgeguard tools in the entire game, giant punch can clutch out games if you call out an unsafe aggressive option, dsmash kills and covers multiple ledge options, etc. He would still be a good character without ding dong. The reason good DK mains seemingly go for ding dong all the time is twofold: it obviously kills very early, but it also has a short window where it's a true combo. If you put too much damage on someone it becomes a 50/50 at best, depending on the opponent's fall speed. On some floaty characters you can literally only attempt to ding dong them once per stock because the percentage window is that limited (plus you have to account for DK's rage).

gameandflogchannel 2 options is rarely enough options, especially considering vanish rarely kills unless your opponent is bad or you use it as a clever mixup and BF gets suuuuuper stale the longer the match goes on
