Great stuff by Elegant. Ally was the first player I've ever seen really take advantage of Elegant while he was recovering. Wasn't afraid to use every gimp tool in the book to take advantage of Elegant's recovery which I never thought was fragile until watching this set.

penssmell997 Yeah, good stuff from Ally, but I will say that Elegant usually recovers a little bit safer. He usually goes down a little further before using the cyclone. (He probably didn't do it here because of his arm). Still a great job by Ally though.

He did a jump right before the cyclone which does not take that much mashing to go extremely high. Most people would be able to do that one specifically. Most of his mashes are so impressive because, without jumping immediately before, it’s very hard to get any distance with cyclone, but he manages to do so because of how fast he can mash. Basically, there is no way, no matter how fast you mash, Luigi can go that high without inputting a jump right before the cyclone.

Mario has frame traps, better killing moves, ways to counter Luigi cyclone as a recovery (f-air), dangerous edge guard tools, faster fall speed. Luigi has a better neutral, advantage on combos in early game, cyclone destroys Mario recovery if properly timed, an early kill move (way too risky to be better than Mario's), ducking. I love seeing this match up.

I think that reaction was only natural. The man clearly thought he was gonna lose that last game.
