What makes Datacenter Manager better than Proxmox's existing cluster options?
@nikiforossarantoglou591719 күн бұрын
@@stevey500 There is no need for cluster in order to manage hosts under a single platform.

I was waiting for a wild Tom to appear. Image used xcp-ng and proxmox and VMware. In my heart of hearts. I love proxmox best and this only makes it better.

apt update = a Linux/Debian system administration command that updates the list of available packages and their versions stored in the system's package index. apt dist-upgrade = upgrades all the packages on your system to their latest versions. apt autoremove = remove those dependencies that were installed with applications that are no longer used by anything else on the system. apt autoclean = clears the local repository of retrieved package files.

Which could have been accomplished with 'apt update ; apt full-upgrade --auto-remove ; reboot' with far less typing, lol

I think Proxmox is really stepping up their game since Broadcom accuired VMware, and with a lot of good things. I love Proxmox, and I wont even switch it for anything, as long as I have anything to say about it. Also, it's Linux under the hood, which means I can do all the tinkering my heart decises, love it, and love your content!

That's cool. I didn't know they were working on something like that. I think it's only a matter of time before Veeam will only require the PDM IP instead of adding every single host. Maybe they are even a big reason, why PDM exists at all. Thank you for the video and the quick overview!
@Darkk696919 күн бұрын
It's possible. Maybe in the future Veeam can make a plugin where we can control Veeam directly inside PDM.

Need to be on the same local network? I wonder could a tail scale networking component be used to bridge the gap.
@ipstacks1118 күн бұрын
yes as long as it can see the lighthouse or whatever tailscale calls their coordinator. Nebula (slack) can be hosted locally so it might be easier for this. Maybe headscale will allow you to host your own?
