After hitting the makor highways day 1, it's time to get on to the back roads and do some real riding! In this episode, we start the day out in Cedar City, Utah and find some 2Lanes and incredible scenery to make our way to Glenwood Springs, Colorado. ABOUT STURGIS MOTORCYCLE RALLY
The Sturgis Motorcycle Rally is a motorcycle rally held annually in Sturgis, South Dakota, and the surrounding Black Hills region of the United States. It began in 1938 by a group of Indian Motorcycle riders and was originally held for stunts and races.
The very first Sturgis motorcycle rally was held on August 14, 1938. The event was organized by the town’s motorcycle club called the Jackpine Gypsies who bought and developed large tracks, hill climbs and field areas where the rally would be held.
Today, the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally continues to reap the support and attendance of both participants and motorcycle fans all over the United States and in some parts of the world.

Nothing compares to long rides on the HD… I miss it .. living in Thailand in the countryside… was going to Import my Streetglide but it would cost almost as much as a new one… sucks. A 2023 Streetglide in Bangkok @ 1,700,000 baht… @ $52k USD .., love the show.. longest ride in US 30 days 8,800 miles.. phone stayed in the pocket until arrived a hotel at night….

Thanks for watching!! We rock the Bell SRT Modular helmets. For the camera setup, we use GoPro's in media mods, which allow 3.5mm audio cables to be routed from the camera to the inside of the helmet using a lavalier mics.

I noticed over the past few videos that even though the scenery you provide is great when you ride, you rush. All of your speedometers in windshield views have shown high speeds as much as 96 miles an hour, a class 3 misdemeanor given in most states. Most motorcycle riders know we love "that need for speed" but really, that fast? Just helping you to notice so that your videos do not encourage young riders to think this is OK. Plus maybe next time you take more time in the planning of your trip, adding in more drive days so that you do not have to "rip down the road" per your video comments. Hey look, just offering constructive feedback, not offering you the typical, "I love you guys" just to get a thumbs up from ya! :-) Overall great videos!

Hey Josh, I saw a DJI Pocket mounted on your bars, does the wind affect your gimble at higher speeds ? I tried a 3 axis gimbal on my bike with a GoPro and the wind really played havoc with the gimbal motor, but I have never tried the Pocket 2 that I have. TIA

Yup, just experimenting with it, but at highway speeds on windy days, it does have some trouble focusing for sure. Other than that, it performs pretty well 👍

I stop in Glenwood quite often. Have you ever stopped by Cisco, UT? It's just east of the Moab exit. It was made famous in the ending scene of the movie, "Vanishing Point". I always have to stop to pay homage to Kowalski. 👍

Been on most of those roads...love it..no pictures of the gas station in Hanksville ? Also I loved hitting some of those quick thunder showers when it"s was hot. Get wet cooled off and 10 minutes later you werer dry again.

Hey, y’all! I'm planning my first trip to Sturgis from CA and want to take this same route; however, I'm on a ‘22 FXBB, so I have about half the fuel capacity. I plan to take two 30-ounce MSR fuel bottles for extra gas. Anyhow, are the gas stations few and far between on this stretch of highways?

You'll be good. We've taken similar routes to Sturgis when a few guys on the trip had Dynas and softails. The MSR bottles will probably never be needed, but is always nice to have on hand if things get close. Josh took a 2018 FXBB on our 202 Sturgis trip along a similar route and was good to go. I know many ways to get from Los Angeles/California to Colorado, but that ride was a new one for us. We'll have to try it in the future. Also it would be interesting, at least for me, to see the setting up of all the cameras for such a ride. How many cameras, where to put them, what kind and who does the great editing job from all that video.

This is definitely one of our favorite routes to get to CO, that's for sure! We use a mix of handheld GoPros and small action cameras while riding, then use sony mirrorless for most of the filming when off of the bike, and a DJI Mavic Air2S for the aerials. The only cameras that are mounted somewhere are our helmet cameras, which are mounted on the chin of the helmet. Josh (on the green road king) does all of the editing/production. I need a darkened windshield for my Road glide. Before deciding to the one you both have did you guys try the next one down in size . I just don't like the look of the taller windshield . I'm sure the windshield is more about function than who gives a rats ass how it looks. Especially when crossing the country on a bike. Aside from the riding in the Black Hills, this was one of our most diverse scenic days from this trip. Unfortunately, with everything else going on in the store etc, I can only pump out one of these drops a week as they can 30-40hrs to edit depending on the vid. Maybe one day, we'll be able to get multiple quality drops out a week, we'll see! 🤘

Ya might be asking the wrong group lol. In a lot of these areas, at least on open highways, theres 80/85mph speed limits, so 90 isn't much over to worry about, not that we recommend speeding 😅
