I am currently loving my colored pencil collection for mark making on top of and below watercolor. I find it fascinating how one brand is different from another. My BIL was at the house for Thanksgiving and I showed him my studio and he about fell over at my collection of art supplies. I told him that collecting and creating were two different hobbies. I would probably be termed a hoarder of art supplies if everything was not organized with it's own place. 🤣 It brings me pleasure and I do use it all, just not at the same time.

Thank you so much for this post, especially the book recommendations. I had the creative abstract watercolor book before I saw you start usng it and already loved it, then when I saw you demonstrating from it, it was just perfect for what I needed. I have just ordered the other 2 recommended books to continue with my plan: "Do: to gain experience while having fun, resulting in being able to do more for even more fun!" I have spent the last couple of years watching literally thousands of tutorials on KZbin and acquiring tons of supplies -- now it's time to Nike the crap out of it: "STOP PREPPING & JUST DO IT ALREADY, WOULDYA!?" Loved this. We drew names for Our Adult Christmas Gifts Thursday. I wish I had seen this video before I put My 5 Wish List suggestions in the hat. The Kuratake sets I have been using for a couple of years. I drew a blank but I didn’t remember I wanted the Color cube. Oh well maybe I’ll get an Amazon card. If I do. Color cube it is. I recently got the signo white uni-ball pen (yesterday actually), and it’s excellent! Nice and opaque. I know some really like those jelly rollers but they didn’t work for me. The white is too watery from that brand. Thanks for the video ❤

A really well timed video! I ordered the Collage Du Jour and Modern Watercolour Workshop books,as Amazon gave a deal if I put both in my basket then also suggested the Abstract Watercolor book as well but at half price if I put all three in my online basket,so got all three st a bargin.I am awating delivery of the copic acrea markers,I ordered a full set anf got these on a deal too(Matt) P.s a new favourite (thanks to you) are the Posca Pastels,an artist friend gifted me a full set of these,have no idea where she them,but they are highly pigmented and vibrant.Also my new favourite this year is the 'Aquapasto' watercolour medium,This has become a staple for me now and it also works well with gouache as well

Does the finishing spray affect watercolor in a negative way?

I haven’t had any troubles with the spray - I always recommend you do a test page to check it will work like you think on the supplies and paper you are using. ☺️

Not a new product, but an idea I got from a Karen Margulis video, is Golden Micaceous Iron Oxide paint. I haven't tried it yet, but ordering today. She says it adds tooth and a subtle sparkle, and it is certainly an interesting charcoal-ish color.

Hi! I just found you and subscribed. I am dying to try the new Canson Velvet paper! I've seen a few reviews and they say it's going to give Pastelmat a run for its money. So far the only place I've found it is at Jackson's in the U.K. Hopefully by next year it will be over here. I've also wanted to try the Kuretake paints for ages...I'm going to have to pull the trigger on those finally! Also I love that you love the Mungyo oil pastels. I have the water soluble ones and I really enjoy them! It's great to see so many companies releasing quality art products at affordable prices. Wonderful and very helpful video!
