I will definitely do that one! We'll see how long it takes to figure out. I was planning on doing Dearth first, since that one's really simple.

This is amazing! Fantastic work, man! I am thinking about re-recording my drum cover of Abscission, would you be interested in doing a collab?
@2m0ng0323 жыл бұрын
Thanks! I'd love to do a collab but I'd have to really master the song first, get all the microtonal stuff down and so on. I'm in the process of adjusting my technique, so right now I kind of suck to be honest.. How about this; you re-do your cover, I'll continue chipping away at my shitty technique, and then I'll let you know when I feel confident and we'll do a new cover together?

Awesome job! May I ask how you achieve this distinct Deathspell guitar tone?

Very low gain, an EQ boost around 1500Hz and single coil pickups!

Thanks! I'm planning on doing Devouring Famine next, but it might take me a while to figure out. Once I get new strings on my 7-string I'll try to do Synthesized instinct by Artificial Brain.

@@КириллБеглецов-э7ц It seems I did not.. I skimmed through some tabs floating around on the internet and they seem reasonably accurate. I'll probably make one myself or tweak an existing one some time in the future, but I have too much going on right now!

Damn when I see you pumping out those covers I realise how undertrained my ears are, any tips?
@2m0ng0324 жыл бұрын
That's a really tough question. For chords I like to focus on the highest or the lowest note first and build the rest of the chord from there. Once you have the lowest and highest note you can usually figure out the best fingering for the rest of the notes. I usually ask myself "what's the most comfortable way to play these notes at the same time". The answer to that question might change, depending on the chords that follow. I usually want to move my hand as little as possible. What I also do a lot is visualize the guitar neck and just "play" random stuff. Single notes, chords, songs I already know, etc. As time goes on you get accustomed to a genre's "language" and your fingers intuitively go where they need to be. With DSO for example, I've never before tried to play many of the chords they use, so that's definitely a (welcome) challenge. I hope this makes at least some sense.. I didn't structure this reply too well, but the main point is: keep at it and it'll get easier.
