2manyDJs - Live @ Mish Mash, Studio Brussel - 2006-10-20

We're back! And this week, we'll be doing another round of Studio Brussel sets and shows.
This was supposed to be in our last series of StuBru uploads, but we... forgot. Whoops!
A common misconception with the broadcast details of this set is that it was featured on Mish Mash, hosted by Trash Radio (some say it's Crash Radio). Indeed, a listen to the first few seconds of the recording would suggest such.
However, after a lot of time researching this subject, along with help from some StuBru historians, we've discovered that Mish Mash is a program under Studio Brussel, hosted by Luc Janssen at the time of this recording. Moreover, "Trash Radio" was a catchphrase that was used throughout the show, as a sort of self-awareness of the show's rather brash tone, and a reference to the genre of the music (Erol Alkan's Trash nightclub comes to mind).
Mish Mash was eventually taken over by Gunther D in 2006, and then the name was reused by StuBru DJs Nadiem Shah and Gerrit Kerremans for their act as "Mish Mash Soundsystem", then switching to "Trash Radio" after the original Mish Mash was discontinued, just to muddle history even more.

Some of the cassetteboy tracks are from dead horse which this mix uses and Girl talk track got rereleased called secret animals

Correct. Gownday and Saltgrain are continuous, Saltgrain more commonly known as Cassetteboy vs. The Streets. Pure Magic was A of 2006 7" Bone Hard Zaggin'.

I'd say so as they're playing both new releases with old, as they would on Hang The DJ, and as they play more of their collection from the year rather than music for DJ sets.
