Ah, my favorite DDR song. A creative one, too. 0:00 - Heartbeat 0:06 - Placed on heart monitor, registers steady heart rate 0:53 - Heart rate increases and/or becomes incoherent 1:04 - Heart rate flatlines (patient dies)* 1:34 - Heartbeat returns with two beeps, taken off monitor, heartbeat continues (patient lives) *A sound effect jumps between the left and right speakers right before the heart rate flatlines **Also note that the intro/outro background image for this song (not pictured here) features a hospital bed.

Antonio Melendez You never noticed? That was like one of the main driving points of the song, when you could see the background. It induces panic and strain, as the song itself basically tells a story of atmosphere and the struggle put into the drum beat that the chart follows. It's almost as if your life meter is the instrument used for saving the patient from death.
@Rhino-n-Chips3 жыл бұрын
Healing Vision is such a tranquil and relaxing song, I doubt anyone could imagine even a remix sound heart pounding or panic inducing, so Yuichi Asami makes the sound of dying from cardiac arrest part of the beat.

I loved the little bits of information about the song that DDR provided when you would go through the different options in the game. I always found it interesting that according to the information provided by the game - this song was created by the artist because he went through a coma and what he experienced while in that coma, he tried to "bring to life" through this song (if memory serves right, the tale went something like that). I always listen to this track specifically while working on my healthcare job.

(song begins) "Alright, what do we got?" "Male, mid-thirties, impact trauma, internal bleeding, wheeled into the ICU about twenty seconds ago, part of the collision from the highway. We've got about six more behind him, assessment places him in the closest to critical." "Have the patients been stabilized?" "Yes, the rest are being treated by nurses, this one's in the most trouble." "Get them connected, and begin the operation." (second part begins) "Blood pressure at 85, doctor." "Bruised ribs, subcutaneous hemorrhaging from unchecked rupture.. this man is lucky to be alive with damage this close to the pericardium-- sponge, please." "Yes, doctor. The blood is pooling around the thoracic cavity, we have to find that rupture." "Found it, just below the heart.. signs of previous ailment, possible Aortic Stenosis, note that for later assessment." "Noted, BP at 80, we have to hurry." "Suturing the wound hasn't changed anything, where is that blood coming from?" "Doctor, the patient's heart is fibrillating!" (third part begins) "Noooo no no no, it's a blockage! something is arresting flow from the heart! Suction, and bring the surgical clamps in." "BP is in the red, we're losing him!" "It's the right ventricle, we need to clear it, more O2! Attempting to cauterize the puncture to the major artery and address that bleeding.." (fourth part begins) "Flatline!" "Get the crash cart here, stat!" "Defib in use! Here are the paddles!" "CLEAR!" *JOLT* "BP at 0! Trying again.. CLEAR!" *JOLT* (heartbeat is heard, ECG resumes) "Heartbeat is rising, doctor, no further blood appears to be pooling.. I think we got him." "We'll see... for now, let's get 'em sewn up and wheeled into post-op for observation, then move to the next six.. it's gonna be a long nite."

This is just a really good song, even outside of DDR, and within DDR it makes for a really cool challenge. I remember watching my friend doing this on heavy and he nearly fell on his ass at that little pause at 1:14, where it sounds like the doctors are going "CLEAR" before using the defibrillator on the flat lining patient. Was always satisfying to hit those final notes in sync with the reviving heartbeat.
