You never know whether or not a coaching hire will work out but I do know one thing about Napier. He is gonna set the program and recruiting infrastructure up for someone to succeed again soon at UF. Hope it’s him

Not really the same scenario coming in for Napier, mullen had 7-10+ years of head coaching/ OC experience in SEC/ power 5, with 2 nay’ titles under his belt. And already coached at UF previously. Thought mullen would have the blueprint or juice already. But had clear spots of complacency in structure. That’s not really showing up in Napier resume or past. But then again, I’m still in wait and see mode too, but Napier has turned down other jobs offers/ openings in the SEC & elsewhere for the right spot to open the last 3 years. But I trust the fruit on the tree at ULL he’s produced, and his resume. And yes despite the “firing” or being let go previously. Which was like almost 10 years ago.

Mullin is a big disappointment and going back to last year when they were 8-1 from then UF under Mullin went a dismal 5-9! But now that he is gone and I must say that he showed a lack of character by opting out in coaching in the FSU game, its time for the Gator program to turn the page and make the next chapter of their illustrious history the best.

Seems like a super nice guy, but he’ll be gone in 3 years. No way he can recruit against big time coaches like Saban, Smart, Kiffin, Fisher, or all the others. Hope I’m wrong but I don’t see it working.
