I felt so sorry for that enemy unit, being double raep by Kyosuke & Excellen's attack. Imagine the unit next to him on the map who saw that, "I'm so fucking glad I'm not that guy! Let's retreat so we can escape being killed off."

Well in the first game Kyosuke was supposed to be a tank...without the tankiness. It was quite a challenge to keep him alive till you really put some points into him. In OG2 is where he really came into his own. Being both incredibly tanky and great damage without being forced to overdevelop him first.

I wish you had played OGs :( He's so terrible in that, especially with all the buffs Soulgain gets. On hard mode Soulgain legit OHKO'd Alteisen with full upgrades and armor parts with Seiryuurin. He dies to any Inspector, I have him with a support defense at ALL times. He's great in both 2nd OG and Moon Dwellers though. Aside from his stupid Trump Card not having post movement still (terrible idea)

ah yes my no.1 favorite character in SRWOG is kyosuke nanbu. he has the super robot who only uses weapons and it's heavy too. i love the revolving stake when kyosuke is so badass using it but if you guys keep asking the tesla drive is meant to fly well i say no. it meant to balance the mech because of the heavy armor

But with full upgrade he is the one of the best damage dealers, and Rampage Ghost is very energy efficient on OG2. But I see your point, on first playtrough he was kind of glass cannon in the gba version.

Still he was one of my the best units at the end of the game, even on first playtrough in the GBA version. He only needs the Bunker Stake upgraded, to boost Rampage Ghost. I also used to eqip G Impact Stake, amd seome lonag range rflle to Alt, at least until getting B Save. Focus was mandatory for me in OG2, since the SM grunts had really high hit rate.

He starts out alright then kind of lags behind, but that's just to serve in showing how awesome Riese is when you get it, making the "good for the first time since OG1" comment inaccurate, as... well, everyone else knows, apparently. Still, he's really damn good in OG1.

Yeah, he's one of those units that absolutely NEEDS upgrades to be viable. Once he gets those upgrades though he is definitely good though. My main problem with him is his atrocious accuracy that pretty much forces him to need Strike/Focus every damn turn to hit even mooks. And his last 2 attacks not being post-movement for no reason really.

His biggest problem is that he blows his load too quickly. He's built for that. You send him to the front lines with accelerate and strike, and then you've got a battered and empty Alt in a circle of corpses and you need to send it back for repairs and to replenish ammo. Then you hold him back until he needs to use rampage/trump card.

He's pretty op when you have SP Regen and a maxed out Revolver Stake. Pit him with Focus on against an army, and you pretty much have summarized what the mech is supposed to be capable of.

i just want to make a comment on how SRW OG missed the chance to be a bit more engaging and sorta realistic by allowing pilot damage the same way front mission does. see in front mission(particularly 3 as i havent played the rest) pilot have their own HP of 20. some attack jogs the robots too much that it hurts the pilot or a straw bullet passes through the cockpick and this severly debilitate the unit as a whole and in the anime it seems to be the case, we can see it on both kyosuke's old alt, the captain of the kurogane, excellen herself, and probably all TKs. SPECIALLY TKs. TKs have a heavy reliance on the unit's built-in TK ability enhancing systems like WINK system so if they receive mental damage(as can be seen with mai when she was verbally assaulted by dr.setman) and her unit goes down. the reverse is also present with TK as heavy emotional outburst such as rage and strong will translate to power. what i mean is that SRW OG should have pilot HP system. on that note, it would make both the cybuster and grantzon less broken as according to the lore of madoukishin, robots made on the lower earth ie like cybuster consume its pilot's life essence, Prana to operate and once masaki used the power of the goddess hidden inside the cybuster it nearly killed him but he have enough prana left to survive and replenish it.

While that sounds good on paper and works well for real-robots-only Front Mission with all robots using weapons on the same scale, it would be impossible in SRW. You wouldn't be able to balance real with super robots and some attack animations are way over the top. Grungusts regularly cut enemies in two in the animation. Every boss would one-shot every one of your units. It would be a vastly different game.

notes taken man. yeah grantzon would practically kill anything in one shot with black hole cluster. also kyousuke's bunker attack would also be an instakill. on that note. im glad kyousuke hasnt married excellen during the inspector arc. otherwise its gonna be a tragic sigurd/deidre momment again. but with robots. also i just noticed, ariel's robots looks like a mash up of alteisen and weissritter in a way that it uses the leg, back and arms of alt while it uses the torso and head of weiss. also that robot feels lighter than a regular alt(cuz yknow, the reise was basically a monolith being moved with tesla engines) and with the inclusion of pulse ray replacement for the bulky claymore it makes it even lighter despite having the old revolver stake(the reise is equipped with the more meatier revolver bunker which is longer and uses larger caliber shells.)

an mass produced Mk lll bro but it's diffrent. that mech has no horn and the shoulder launcher shoots lasers the main Gespenst Mk lll was dead since the final battle of OG Inspector. Kyosuke and Alteisen Riese destroyed him once and for all
