💯. Santh Jayasuriya's involvement in the selection has cost us most recently. He needs to make sure that his instincts are there with the players as well because from what I saw Avishka didn't have any confidence in playing that role at all. We can't determine our players strength and weakness from our own local leagues as they are not up to standards. Sanath needs to let selectors make their decision without being interfered very often. Sanath needs to be there but in a limit in my opinion.

Our selection committee is afraid of taking risks and trying new things. They are always doing the same thing and expecting different results. There are no future plans, nor are they creating shadow players. Even though Pathum and Kusal Mendis are the best in T20 for Sri Lanka, we need to find players for their positions and give them opportunities to play matches, at least one match per series. There are no such plans. A selection committee like this can never lift Sri Lanka cricket back to its former glory.

A very good player who is not performing at his given position but he performed well in another position, which still SLC didn't recognized, that is a blunder. If a bowler who can only provide breakthroughs at death,but used him every where but in not death, that's mystery. Captain don't know to tell his fellow spinner to slow it up when he tries to become a fastballer and which not working for them, that is nonsense. If you have 2 fast bowlers who can bowl in both power play and death and having another extra death over specialist, then why you can't bowl all power play 6 overs between those two of them, and you have two spinners who are in top 5 in world cricket, you can't have more than this bro. This is very very poor from captain and SLC.
