To be fair - YG himself TRIED to tone down Minzy's "sexiness". He did find it weird that out of the 4 she was the one who gave the sexy vibe especially when she's dancing. That's why the stylist would ALWAYS give her the pants, boy clothes, caps, jackets and all. You would only see her in dresses later in their career. Minzy has that tendency to be sexy without trying. That's why she was nicknamed "EROMINJI" or "EROMAKNAE"

missing you MV is one of their most beautiful MV, high fashioned 2ne1 and the aesthetic of the video itself was so dope.... same goes with IT Hurts.. which kills the halloween concept. if i were you doesnt have an MV because its on their B side, however it is so special because CL wrote the song. so they are correct about checking the one on yoo hee yeol sketchbook performance.. on my opinion, 2ne1 is the only badass gg that did ballads right. my fourever queens.

The Seoul Stadium live version of this was the best for me. And by the way, if I remember it right Kiejin-appa (CL's dad) was the one who built those robots in the MV :)

YG IS NOT SOME VILLAIN. yg was against minzy being sexy, yg was tryna push the the tomboy image on her instead but minzy is from a famous dancing family, its not about being sexy, its about her expressing herself through her dancing, just like how pole dancing isnt just sexy but an art. You cant just stop her from expressing herself how she feels most comfortable, thats why instead of stopping her they told her they told her hold in a bit and dressed her covered up fully for all the lives till she became of age and could dress how she want.

You also have to put into the fact that they had just debuted a few years before and that this is still one of thier first singles.. I love the video and song yeah they could have definitely found a different word than hood but it is what it is. They got way better at writing and you just see this as them on there way to being one of the best female groups of all time..

This song is one if my favorites. Tbh the live you reacted to is probably the worst one, could be because it's in a music show, tho it's probably the worst even among the music show ones. Wow...YG really grew through out the decades. I am so glad that they've signed so many talented, native lyricists later through out the years. (not trying to throw shade on Teddy at all since it was his idea to gather these talented people under the name of BLACKLABEL anyway. Early YG was heavily influenced by Hip Hop and 80s music so a lot of times they really didn't understand the cultural aspect of it (the whole thing with the hood and where Hip-hop started) I'm sure they've evolved since those days just like here in the U.S. if you go back to older music there were some cringy lyrics in certain songs also

Also i know hood hood is super cringy lol but you have to understand this was 2010 and korea was like 5 years behind hiphop, so just the word “hood” was a fresh word they didnt really know what it meant (teddy prob knew but he knew that their audience, koreans didnt know anyways) just that it was popping in what at that time was trendy american hiphop, like every song mentioned the word “hood” atleast once (lil wayne etc), bigbang and 2ne1 were always bringing the “latest” american hiphop trends to korea, sadly hood doesnt translate well especially in korean context.

Teddy and 2NE1 was never afraid to experiment sounds and style. About Minzy, yeah the team behind this mv dropped the ball on this. For the most part though, Minzy was fully covered until she became an adult and was allowed to show her abs and act sexy(er).
