The band is called The Band Six. They were put together for Bigbang as per GD's request because he wanted a live band who would be touring with them. The Band Six toured with BB from 2012 on every single tour and concert. It's the YG standard back then to always have a live band and live vocals. Whenever BB was not busy touring the band was with 2NE1 and when BB went to hiatus for military and 2NE1 was disbanded by YG they went touring with Blackpink.

Funnily though. 2NE1 is the ORIGINAL MONSTER ROOKIE. Heard that term? It came to existence in kpop bcoz of them. Other kpop artists may use them loosely nowadays, but back then, it means 2NE1 swallowed the whole kpop industry. Not chew, but swallowed. Imagine, half a year old kpop girlgroup winning awards after awards did that. Swallowed a whole music genre in Korea. Even their seniors BIGBANG wasn't able to do that during their debut. But 2NE1 did. Despite all the negative stuff or insults they received, 2NE1 gave them a middle finger by achieving something no rookies had ever done. That's why even fellow famous and big idols felt intimidated by them. Go fangirling and fanboying over them. Felt nervous to approach them. They literally changed the whole girl group concept. Hence, the GIRL CRUSH concept. That's why Kpop stans can now use the term BAD-ASS on kpop girlgroups nowadays, thanks to 2NE1. Coz before them, kpop girlgroups were nowhere near BAD-ASS. You can call them cute, innocent, sexy, fluff, cheerful, sweet but never bad-ass. Only 2NE1 did. 💓💓💓

Learning 2NE1 is difficult, or at least time consuming, because they use so many different genre. They do club, bop, ballads, reggae, and more. Also reading the lyrics is very important because some of their songs seem upbeat but the lyrics are sad, painful, or controversial. Suggest the following: Lonely, the mv is good, their acoustic and reggae versions are awesome. Come Back Home, mv is innovative and the unplugged version really shows their vocal skills. Clap Your Hands mv is very good. 3 of the 4 rap. I Love You mv is excellent. Mama 2015. CL solo, then surprise 2ne1 performance of Fire and I am the Best. Even if you don't react you should watch these for your own benefit.

The Band Six was actually formed BY and FOR Bigbang in 2012, and as with all things bigbang, including their style and sound and connections (and sometimes this can be a little frustrating) , anything they got through effort and creativity was kind of passed down for free to the others. Band Six are absolutely amazing though and deserve all the occolades. Ive watched BP, 2ne1 and BB live many times and by far their best work is still with Bigbang, because the freedom they had to put the twists on their concerts was next level. Bigbangs Japan Dome tour 2014 is a perfect example.
