I am doing agility with my pup. and our teacher is saying we need to do a "Bow two on - two off-" I don't understand why?? Also not to give it a name, so at the end he is not sure what to do. he also needs to do the nose touch.

there are numerous ways and methods to do and teach the two on two off position. some use a target, others don't. We do want the dogs to shift their weight back, that's probably why your teacher is looking for a bow? I don't go that far as I want my dogs to be able to move on quickly and the nose touch to the target creates the desired weight shift but the target gets faded out quickly during the training. I may not name it initially when shaping the position but prefer to name it when used on equipment. It's a good idea to write down exactly what you want the end behavior to look like and then train to achieve that.

Me and my father (his other handler) Are trying to teach him the bow trick and to maybe integrate it in. Is this a bad idea?

k9dancer also I don't understand how to get from point a to point be. he won't stay on the steps and my teacher also gold me that he loves me to much and not the equipment enough so doing nose touching he is not doing great.

Do u ever use the fit paws disc targets? I just started using those at the bottom of our baby Teeter.
