2Pac - Keep Ya Head Up (Instrumental) [Reprod. by Beast]

This is one of my favorite songs by the legendary Tupac Shakur. After not finding an official copy, I figured I'd make a close attempt for personal listening. I wanted to eventually share with those who might appreciate it. So here is my attempt at reproducing the instrumental for "Keep Ya Head Up" performed by 2Pac which was featured on "Strictly 4 My N.I.G.G.A.Z." My main sampling source used we PhonicMind.com and everything was layered out using Acid Pro which is my primary production application. After sampling the kick, snare, hats, tracing down the original samples ("Be Alright" by Zapp, extended version of "Computer Love" by Roger & Zapp) I laid out the basic beat and went from there.

I used my own samples to recreate some of the melodic improvs. Sprinkled some pieces of the vocal stem track to give it more of an authentic feel.

That's definitely what I was aiming for. I just wanted to hear something that sounded legit, but couldn't find a good version, so i made it myself. One of my all time favorite beats, let alone a Pac associated one. 😊
