We love a good day trip, even more so when it’s by train. Today, we finally got to try Indonesia’s bullet train, also known as Whoosh. We travelled from Jakarta to Bandung, which not only felt like a breeze since it was so fast… but also because we upgraded to first class! As the first class passanger, you have to got the facility waiting at the first class lounge, with free drinks, coffee etc and snack. If you get off at the padalarang station, you can take the free feeder train to central bandung station, it's more safe and faster than taxi.

When you go to Bandung, take the fast train, if your destination is downtown Bandung, you should stop at Padalarang station, then from Padalarang station, take the green feeder train to Bandung city center and you don't need to pay for a ticket again, everything is included, if you stop at the station Lastly, Tegal Luar station is quite far to the center of Bandung city, around 25 km away

While on the island of Java, my suggestion is also to try luxury buses such as, 1. Cititrans 2. Juragan 99 3. 27 Trans 4. Gunung Harta 5. Indorent 6. M - Trans 7. etc There are various classes and the characteristics of each bus are, for example, President Class, Sultan Class, Suite Class, Super Executive Class, etc. You can check these buses on KZbin, happy holiday in Indonesia 😁

Agree that train travel is so much nicer! I went on the whoosh train from Bandung to Jakarta…the max speed we did was 350km/h…we were in business class…and literally had the cabin to ourselves 😂 Bandung is a lovely city (my dad’s family is from there) and the weather is a little milder which i liked. Enjoy!

Actually you were getting out on the wrong stations if you try to go to bandung city centre, the previous station call padalarang we're the transfer station to bandung city and you getting off at Tegalluar station which is further away from bandung city, so yeah😅 (After edit) If get off at Padalarang station and transfer to the feeder train, total journey time will be 50 minutes to Bandung city centre from Halim HST station, and because you getting off at Tegalluar Station, you basically going much further than you needed, although the station is beautiful and it technically still on the outskirts of bandung, you definitely getting off on the wrong stations if you try to go towards city centre😅

@@2Passports1Dream If you want to go to Bandung by Whoosh, buy a ticket from Jakarta to Padalarang not to Tegaluar, after stopping at Padalarang, go downstairs and there will be a feeder train (free of charge) the color of the feeder train is green and the train will go to Bandung station then from Bandung station take a taxi to your destination hotel

What a perfect moment for you two guys😊, you guys reviewed the train with a vestibule only two of you , no need to feel awkward or shy when you have one car for yourself. I missed my Indonesia right now and its been 25 years since the i left my country 😢. So many progress which even better than the one we have in the US. The fastest train in North East Corridor from NYC to DC only 120mph which is the Amtrak Acela and still feel shaky 😅.

Your room is a lot bigger. Our one in New York was very small Luke a galley style room. It was a lovely and we loved staying there. Moxy gave us a 30 voucher to use each day on drinks or food.

When you take the Whoosh train, you will arrive in Padalarang station, not Bandung. From there you should book and ride the Feeder Train to Bandung Station. It will be a 15 minutes ride. So it wouldn’t take you 2 hours drive to your hotel in Bandung.

For a faster journey to city center don't stop in Tegalluar. Stop in padalarang and take the free shuttle train that takes you in the heart of Bandung in less than 20 minutes. Total travel time from Halim to Bandung city station would only take you less than 1 hour instead of 2+ hour taking a taxi from Tegalluar.

Lucky You , I am Indonesian , but never ride this Whoosh high speedrail but I had experience rode Shinkansen from Yokohama to Tokyo , rode TGV train from Paris to Frankfurt , and rode ICE train from Frankfurt to Zurich. Have a nice trip in Indonesia.

You should stop at Padalarang Station (and ride a free complementary commuter train from Padalarang Train st to Bandung City Center Station) instead of stop at Tegaluar Station then continue with Car/taxi. Tje complementary train just 20 min to bandung station.
