I have the same engine in my boat. It seems unstoppable. I had cooling issues at first but after descaling the water jacket and putting in a new thermostat that was sorted. Have fun.

I have the same boat with the same engine. She’s been on the hard since I’ve bought her in 2017. I’m currently restoring her and about ready to start her for the first time soon. Hoping she starts right up and won’t have to do this. I also built a windvane for her like the How to Sail Ocean guys has here on KZbin. Thanks for sharing this

If the engine was not preserved, you might figure out how to spray some oil on top of the pistons and rotate the crank through by hand a few revolutions. These are great boats. What hull# did you get? We had # 59, 1979. Best of luck!

Thanks for the tip. I’ll try that. I have 1979 hull #57. Can’t wait to get her out sailing. In my opinion they are the perfect 30ish foot boat. In the future I’m going to add external chainplates and just drill through the inner ones and with backer plate and through bolted them together
