I run my 1985 Yamaha RZ350 twin racing bike on expensive Klotz Super Techniplate synthetic 2T racing oil @ 100:1 ratio premix only...oil pump and oil tank are removed....So far 2 racing seasons no engine failures yet and the engine spins to 12000rpm often..No smoke at all even from cold start but has a sweet racing smell from the pipes when its running.

Hi, I’ve learned a big lesson with my Rx 100 I gave it to my cousin and was out of town for a week and he rode it without noticing that the 2t oil was finished and also pump got failed sadly and engine got seized, since then I was using motul for by adding 40ml for 1 litre and my mechanic said adding to the tank preventing engine from rust and increases life span of the engine. And one more thing bro is adding Nulon engine replacement in the tank good for 2 strokes?

very informative, i have running 2t Oil pump and as you said we always have to have an eye on it, and i didn't. and two days back after doing 1500+ km on new piston throught of giving it a pull and crossed 100+ and bike shut in sec, rare tyre got locked.. manged it by using clutch .. stoped aside looked at 2t oil tank it was empty and dry af .. thank god i keep adding oil in petrol .. started my bike ..at slow speed went straight to garage and filled the 2t tank.. ..if this video was uploaded four days ago, my bike would have not got shut at high speed. any ways thank you for making this video, i will keep me reminding of 2t tank .

Will the petrol form a homogeneous mixture with the 2T ? The 2T oil being denser than petrol, wouldn’t it settle down at the bottom of the petrol tank on premix which might actually result in 2T being depleted faster than petrol in the tank ?

I am using premix 2t oil in My Bajaj KB 100 bike. Motor is not working. Mehanic advised me to mix oil with petrol. 25 ml with one litre of petrol. So far more than 5000 kms had ran after the piston change. There is no issue till now. Morning starting I have to use choke numerous times is the trouble. Is there any solution for first time starting trouble?

i have just rebuilt my rxg 5- days ago. I haven't been using the oil pump for last 3 years as it gave up in middle and seized my engine. Now that i rebuilt it i was skeptical, so i did start the oil pump but also add 15 ml of oil as premix. i keep an eye on the smoke just to be sure that i dont seize it again !

Yes just be careful when you start using oil pump. It can be a hit or a miss. Either way you'll find out the answer.

In short use 2t pump at Adequate setting giving good smoke at revs, and add premix in tank 10to15 per litre of petrol and you are golden....

Using premix on my 5 speed Z. Dont want to take any risk with the 5s block as the prices are already sky high😷 also for peace of mind. You can just enjoy the ride everytime because you know that the crank and piston are being lubed properly

As per my experience in RX series oil pump hardly fails, service it at good mechanic once in every 10000km is enough. Also u can check once in a week in normal riding position by pulling oil pipe at carb. For long ride compulsary check. You are also right that u dont want to take risk, now a days block and crank very expensive and rare to find. But one thing for premix riders, if u gave bike to ur relative or friend for their ride u personally fill petrol tank full premix, don't rely on others, because only u can take care for ur dear RX.

No. Maybe he means you should add extra 10ml engine oil to premix even when you're using oil pump. I wouldn't recommend using engine oil in rx. 2t oil is enough.

Brother can u suggest me for rx135 long in length cables of clutch,brake and odometer bcz I too use wider handle and also I have increased the shocks so the brake and odo cable are very short (stock cable)

Stock accelerator cable and clutch cable would fit. Just reroute the cables. Change the route of the cables. It would work. For Speedometer i'm not sure which one. You will need to find it locally. For front brake you can use chetak' clutch cable with button lock, or check other yamaha bikes cable. Longer ones.

Yes there is, use oil pump if possible, it supplies exact amount of oil to the engine, minimizing excessive smoke. a 2stroke engine needs good oil supply, if its excessive its not good for the engine but if 2t oil is less then it might result in engine seizure. you cannot eliminate smoke completely in a 2stroke but u can reduce it to factory spec.

Yamaha recommends 20w40 mineral oil. 4stroke oil is what we get here, so it's absolutely fine. I use 20w-50.

I use castrol gtx 20w50 as of now. Previously tried shell, motul etc. All are good you don't really notice the difference. 20w50 is more thicker than 20w40 when the engine is at medium temperature. So oil doesn't really loose its viscosity. Doesn't really feel but it's good for the engine but I recommend using 20w40 because Yamaha recommends it. Haven't tried motul 710 2T because it's not available here. But it should be perfect, but this is 100% synthetic. These old 2stroked don't really need synthetic. But u can use it.

Hi, Yes. But if you're going on a long ride its better to add a little 2t oil in the gas tank as well. Just to be on the safer side. If at all the 2t oil pump fails or doesn't supply enough oil it will atleast save the engine from completely seizing at high speeds. 10-20ml of 2t oil in the gas tank will do.

For yezdis you should add sae 50 or 20w40. 2T doesn't work good in a Yezdi as it would in a Japanese bike. Yezdis run higher tolerances and have thicker rings, that would sweep the oil away if it is too thin.

It will if the oil pump sends more 2t oil than needed. You need to balance it. Add only 10ml in premix but let the 2t oil pump do its job at normal setting.

I have replaced it with Chopson Brand RX100 Silencer sourced from Amazon. In my locality there is no RX mechanic available and I don't know anyone in Kolkata also. Now I have decided to keep very less oil in 2t oil resviour and start premix of 40ml per litre....is it a good Decision? I don't want to spoil the partly wrong 2t pump as it is being spoiled in 2012 by a mechanic while replacing oil seals. So what is suggested? I don't want any Engine issues, but I want less smoke, dry plug and proper Pik up.

Check clutch side oilseals. There are 3 oil seals. Check if those oil seals are leaking oil. The chain cover can also be leaking excessive oil which might be because of frequent chain lubrication.

Catcon silencer has hundreds of filters inside, it restricts smoke to release out of the exhaust, hence carbon forms more than the chrome silencer, when you ride it for longer durations or at high rpm the catcon actually starts burning carbon due to heat. This is exactly how it was designed. This is completely normal and it cleans itself by burning. Hence the burning smell. Nothing to worry about.

Yesterday my oil pump started leaking and i given it o my mechanic he said that oil seal kharab ho gaya hai, oil pump change karna padega, 2500 rs. I just used 1700 km after the oil pump installation and it went wrong, I told him that don't put oil pump now, I will use premix. So he started saying that, engine seize ho sakta hai, oil pump diya hai to kuch reason hoga and all. I thought not to take risk and I asked him to replace. My only question is is the oil pump compulsory? Or only using premix will work ? He was saying using premix will not reach oil at ring.... Since deep knowledge nahi hai to insaan ko bevakuf bhi banaate hai log.. anybody reading this please help me out.

Premix 2T oil mixture ratio : For 1 litre of petrol = 30 ml of 2T oil. For 5 litres of petrol = 150 ml of 2T oil. For 10 litres of petrol = 300ml of 2T oil. Premix is best option for engine cylinder kit, piston safety, prevents tank rust. Excessive 2T oil mix leads to starting trouble, spark plug issues. So mix the premix 2T oil with petrol in proper ratio.
