I heard different version that Mazhar Khan the producer was approached by Moti lala to give chance to Mukesh and Mazhar Khan asked Anil Biswas to try Mukesh and Anil Jee said this guy copies Sahgal and it is not going to work If we have to listen to Sehgal we better call him. Moti Lal said if Mukesh does not sing he is not going to work in the movie. At that point all agreed and Mukesh was given the chance and his song climbed to top..

It does make a sense during 50's film industry use to produced around 800 to 900 movies per year. Mukeshji missed almost 600 to 700 songs during three years of early 50's. with 200+ song per year x 3 =600+... But Somehow those days media had reported that Mukesh voice is very similar to yesteryears singers, so we have new trend of voice, it would be Rafi. But at the end Mukeshji won the heart of the Indian+international people with joota hai Japani & awara hu... thanks for sharing posting.

The original clip received from DD appears to have only mono sound. If you use headphones, voice is audible only in one channel. Also, the volume is low, and you may have to to raise it suitably to hear the conversation.

It is still a mystery , after seven songs of Andaz, Mela , and Anokhi Ada by MUKESH (exceptionally popular even today ), legend NAUSHAD never cared for him . Can any body throw some light on this issue ?
