It's an adventure! I appreciate that you tell everyone you are not a bike mechanic because many riders are worried because they don't know how to fix every possible problem. You are showing that sometimes we just need to find someone who can help. Maybe get a spoke set for a wheel or maybe new clutch plates, and maybe an engine rebuild on the sidewalk, it's all fixable. Breakdowns are what we tend to remember more than just beautiful scenery. Breakdowns create opportunities to meet wonderful people who are happy to help a stranger. We remember those people long after the other details fade. But breakdowns are stressful so it is critical to have the right attitude, and ATTITUDE is the difference between ordeals and adventures.

Absolutely! We try to make it a point to let everyone know that it isn't mandatory to have an Aerospace engineering degree to ride around the world! That's the beauty of Indonesia. There are small vendors spread in various locations who do the tiniest and tedious things for many stuff. The more users who use the products (such as motorbikes) the bigger chance there are workshops who can service or selling parts of it. You will find this tendency in Java and perhaps some parts of Bali and Sumatra.

Tanjung Mas Harbor is located in northern Semarang. The road you take all the way out of the harbor is called Pantura. Pantura is famous for its damaged roads and inter-city highways. what you call a motorbike gang visiting the direction we call it 'factory disbandment'. These were factory employees who came home from work and flocked in the opposite direction because they didn't want to cross because it was too far. if you go through the roads in the city, the roads will look much better

@@2UpAndOverloadedAgreed, if you are a motorcycle adventurer, it is indeed much better for you to go through the southernmost route of Java Island, the beautiful scenery of the countryside, mountains and beaches is much more beautiful than the northern route, one of the weaknesses and advantages of the southern route is that it does not pass through too many cities, so prepare the condition of your vehicle, make sure it is "healthy" enough for you to ride. Super bummer! I just reached out to Cardo to see what's going on! Thank you for letting us know and sorry something is not right!

Hey there! So I just confirmed with Cardo that the discount code works for the Edge units, but sadly not for accessories and don’t apply to the Edge Pro yet… but it will after their official launch has completed! Sorry for the confusion!

Very true. And the bike is nearly 15 years old and has zero suspension at this point! 🤣

If at all possible, always get/rent a Honda. Stick with the Japanese brands before any others. BMW, and some of the Chinese bikes are also OK life CF Moto.

This was what was available in our price range! It has had some bad days, but it has successfully carried us across Java and Kalimantan!

@@2UpAndOverloaded What would be the expense if you imported your own bike??
@2UpAndOverloaded5 ай бұрын
@packfan1946 we would have needed to get a Carnet. That’s basically a passport for your vehicle, and that would have cost us $9k dollars upfront until we turn in the paperwork back in the States. Once back in the States you get 8 of the 9k dollars back. The upfront charge is before we even fly / ship it to Indonesia. Renting and buying bikes as we ride through Southeast Asia is much cheaper!

You should bought Kawasaki versys 250 instead of pulsar, it's bigger more power and more reliable, you can find a second hand low mileage for like 3k, and you can ride it all the way home to the US with no problem.

It’s an old motorcycle that was most likely much better and reliable 15 years ago. We’ve had a lot of motorcycles and they all have had their problems 😂. This one isn’t our favorite, but it has taken a lot of abuse!
