Wondering if starting the assembly would be better with the top, and adding the other parts after. Seen this done with a lot of geodesic projects and it seems to be easier to do.

Can you think of any reason why I couldn’t use two sets of brackets per join? Inside and Outside sandwiching the timber with a through bolt to compress join? I realise that doubles the quantity I would need for a dome. I plan on creating a triple skin dome with an insect mesh layer on an outer frame using ‘BuildWithHubs’ kit and inner overlapping polycarbonate sheets for rain proofing and inner adjustable insulating layer. This adds obviously weight.

Maybe they differ a bit in size, because of the angles. So, the holes might not line up.

Cant see a reason for insect mesh on the outside if you are using polycarbonate. You`ll need to be good at trig, the frame will be triangles and it will have a different frequency to the polycarbonate shell made up of polygons, not triangles..

V3 kits are now available at Amazon France, Italy, Germany and Spain. No: you cannot use V2 kits to build a V3 dome as all angles are different.
