I have the same model, of the same color. This is a KMZ Dnepr MT10 from the mid 70s. Beware of the chinese carb parts: they are often of random dimension, which is not the best for carb setting. For the squeaky noise, this is possibly the carter breather sleeve pin. It is worn, too short and does not move the sleeve. The carter overpressure explains the engine oil leak everywhere. Beware also the oil level and quantity. The conrod main bearings are journal bearings. If the engine loses the oil, the remaining oil overheats and the conrod bearings fail. Use 20w-50 mineral based oil. Also, have time to clean the centrifuge oil filter and the oil ducts inside the crankpins. If the engine works on one cylinder, it is often an ignition short circuit. The mechanical ignition is a disaster. Use ukrainian electronic ignition instead, it is cheap and plug and play.

I use Ukrainian pistons. They are cheap and good. Polish Almot pistons are more expensive and better. For piston rings, either buy Ukrainian rings or Hungarian Belcord ringset. A German webshop's chinese "special rings" lasted 1000 km in my machine. Note that I made 7k kms (4k+miles) with Ukrainian Pistons and Belcord ring set. I drive at 90-110km/h (56-68mph) regularly for 180-200 mile trips in one day. So,the original pistons are not so bad.

A valve lash adjustment check. And a carb sink after that will make it much smoother running if you care to go further. I had one of these bikes - a solo version, over 20 years ago. My one had the square rocker (valve) covers other bikes made in the other factory has round rocker covers. It had Lucas Rita electronic ignition which was a common mod in those days. Even so, still fussy to start up. It was fun while I had it, but as a mechanic, I found the engineering very crude. Did you know that all the wheels are interchangeable including the sidecar wheel?

Commoner could not buy them because they were not on the market. Some people bought used ones from police and struggle to fix them for years because parts were not available. At that time you could not by a piece of wood board or a brick. Everything was in short supply. I wish one day you will show us this motorcycle restored to showroom condition. Good luck good mechanic.

It's a lovely machine to ride and a first-time starter, so I use it a great deal. I really do hope you can create some more of your excellent videos around your Dneipr and develop it into your daily rider with little Vinnie hopping into the sidecar and coming along for the ride. Basically you can steer with the throttle. Accelerating the bike will tend to go around the sidecar, decelerating the opposite, the sidecar tends to go around the bike. Slight lean in sidecar to bike and toe in with the sidecar wheel angled slightly to the bike may help straight ahead steering without the wobble. Assuming most things are tight etc. Steering towards the sidecar may cause the sidecar wheel to lift.

The countryside is reminiscent of the Kentucky 'Blue Grass' landscape. I don't know about engines, but from the beeping sound of this Russian machine, I can conclude that the exhaust valve is blowing out. I wouldn't have spared the time to grind and adjust the valves correctly. I would also have replaced the piston rings. If I decided to take the block apart (I didn't), I would have replaced the shimrings and, if necessary, the crankshaft bearings as well. Anyway, there is still a lot of work left on this machine.
