I have always felt that there is a bit of inconsistency here. When we see them as residents how come Miranda, Callie and Sydney Heron are able to operate without an attending supervising, whilst Meredith et al are watched like hawks in the OR all the way through their residency?

In Mexico you have to STOP working 40 before you give birth and cannot return until at least 40 days after (although most places will give you 3-6 months)... this looks crazy to me.

In Canada you can take Maternity leave at any point in your pregnancy, but most women work up to a month or 2 weeks before birth in order to get more time on Paternity. i worked up to 2 weeks before my due date, and then Paternity leave benefits kicked in at the birth and I had a year off.

For me what happened was I began my labor contractions at the supposed last day at my job before taking my mat leave lol had to call my manager for a sick call, the next day he called me back asking me if im okay and how am i doing, i told him I was in labor when i called in sick yesterday and I gave birth hours before he called me that day, he was like WHAT?oh my congratulations! 😂😂😂😂 now im pregnant again and will go back to work on july until december then will take my mat leave again for a year, thank Goodness the hours that I will work for is enough for me to get ei benefits again
