The fact that Alex was the only person there who knew how to handle her in this situation does something to my heart. He always loved her, even when they weren't together, even when a moment earlier she was engaged to another man. I've always felt like the only true happy ending for him could be with Izzie. They had endgame written all over them.

Izzie's breakdown was so real in this moment. I also liked how Alex was the one to help her break....to hold her and comfort her as she fell apart. And the expression on his and George's face when she confessed was like "Don't you DARE scold her, or I will end you. She's been through enough tonight" I know they had their differences moving forward, but he was her person in this moment.

I remember being, what, 11yo when watching this, I think it was my first real melt down in front of the tv. Coming back to this masterpiece of a scene made me cry again. How much I love when an emotional song fills in the gaps of words not spoken but shown. Perfect song to a perfect sad scene.
