I'm not sure if i'll take this path, but who knows what'll happen by the time I graduate HS. This path honestly sounds amazing, but it might not be for me. I'm glad you found your own success, it's really reassuring to me.

This is what im talking abt all the bad students go to community college then transfer into these good colleges its gonna be so humliating for me i failed freshmen year second semester of high school bc of depression and here i am in 10th also failed bc im still stuck with that same old trauma

No I feel you! This is literally me but sophomore year and junior year right now.
@hsien-en_20077 күн бұрын
The good thing if you’re applying to UCs is that they don’t see your freshmen year grades but see your sophomore and junior year grades. As long as you improve you will be fine!

I'm currently a community college student looking to transfer to NAU next fall as a mechanical engineering major. What would be a good range of credits to transfer over? NAU has a 90-30 program that allows me to transfer up to 90 credits. However, I'm not sure if my major applies for the program. I currently have 58 transferable credits, and only want to transfer up to 70 credits, but I don't know if that's too much. Btw love the videos! There isn't enough appreciation for community college, as it's a great financial option for those who want to go to college.

Stay in the range of 60-70 credits, that’s the standard range. Unless you want to finish more of your degree off at CC but you have to make sure all your units transfer - might be tricky with upper division classes. Appreciate the support 🤝

Should I go to ucla or cal??? Got into both.

Both are great schools. It’s all about fit and figuring out which school is gonna put you in a better position to achieve your next goals.

What a stupid question. Go visit both, consult with folks in the real world, look at the major and your interests, look at financial aid, organizations and social involvement: Then make an informed decision

why does community college increase your chance at getting in transfer
@adamramirez18 ай бұрын
Less applicants and schools prioritize accepting community college students over other four year universities. Also acceptance are based on major so for my year ucla and uc berkeley had like a 50% acceptance rate for Spanish majors.
@iwanttoleave63058 ай бұрын
@@adamramirez1 still wondering why they prioritize cc. If the acceptance rate is that high for your major couldn't you have transferred from your original school? Congrats tho UCLA is great.
@adamramirez18 ай бұрын
Universities usually have commitments to prioritize community college students from their state. Some universities even have guaranteed admissions for community college students again from their state. It’s a pipeline system since all schools have transfer students.

Hi was wondering if there is an higher chance of being accepted into an UC if you went to CC versus just graduated out of high school. Also thx for the helpful advice in the video.
@adamramirez18 ай бұрын
The major difference for getting accepted to a UC from hs vs cc is that for community college they accept people by their major. This can play to your advantage or disadvantage as the acceptance rate for business at UC Berkeley is ~3% but if you apply as economics the acceptance rate is ~15% and getting in as a Spanish major is ~50%. UCs also prioritize who they accept as transfers by #1 cc students #2 uc/cal state students #3 other private schools. This plays a major factor as to getting into a UC as a transfer.
@manman3792Ай бұрын
It could be easier coming from CC because they have transfer agreements “tag” that can get you automatic admissions to some UCs

If I have poor stats and apply for physics major, would I likely to be accepted if I transfer? The catch is the acceptance rate for transfer with that major is 28.9%
@wiseltheysay28636 ай бұрын
Also even if people say that I have “very low” chance, i still try to take a shot as first-time and if i get rejected than i can transfer from cc
@adamramirez16 ай бұрын
You can check the average gpa for that major to see how you stack up. Also, you can write some amazing essays to compensate for underwhelming stats.
@adamramirez16 ай бұрын
Good plan, two chances 👍🏽
@matthewzarate88515 ай бұрын
Make sure you finish your last semesters at CC very strong. If you can finish with A’s (mutivariable calculus, differential equations, physics e&m, modern physics, linear algebra) then your chance of getting into LA and Berkeley will be much higher-it can even make up for an overall low gpa. If you’re set on physics, make sure you apply to physics REU’s (as a cc student) throughout California and the US for the Summer 2024 season as well. Also, in the case you don’t get into Berkeley or LA for Physics, another UC or CSU where there isn’t grade deflation will still help you out a ton-grad schools for physics pay attention to overall university GPA & research experience.
