this 5 phase gen will only produce wild AC, that means that it will not conform to the 50/60Hrtz cycle output. all the AC produced will then be rectified to dc to charge battery. i hope this answered your question. sam

It would be really easy to make, the concept is rather simple. Using mechanics and rpm speed detection, the machine would start running with the iron cores outside of their positions. Once the rpms reach the level where the cogging doesnt occur, the iron cores would then be automaticly positioned inside the coils, producing an even better performance in total. Just my opinion, I thought I should share it with you.

there was few sets of letters, "ABC"=3phase "ABCD"=4phase or2 parallel phases, and "ABCDE"=5Phases so the "A" coils connect together as a phase, the "B" coils connect as a phase.....and so on.

you have to pass all AC through a bridge rectifier then input it to the inverter which outputs a constant 50hrtz or 60hrtz(depends upon your area frequency) so no matter whether your wind turbine speed is fast or slow your output frequency will be locked on target.

Nice demo film. Good for windy spots. But expensive power, often NOT RUNNING! Daily unused power is Bay of Fundy tides. Let's work that for millions of users! OR Use fixed increasing magnet array to PULL iron balls (doing work) in one slightly curved direction & a bit uphill (not breaking 2nd Law) to next level (with small lip drop to stop backsliding & reduce mag force), then to next magnet. A sequence builds gravity potential energy released on fall thru turbine to origin No sun/wind needed!

great question, i do not have a clear ansewr. at a lower RPM the slanted magnets produced 8% less current than the perpendicular to coils, however, at a higher rpm, arround 400 rpm and up both seamed to produce the same. the slanted one consumed 2% less to spin it than the perpendicular, i am not sure why and how!, it was so small amount that i did not care for because i was looking to build a low RPM pma, so in this case, i stuck to traditional configuration. you try it to see the result sam
@emagnets
@emagnets 12 жыл бұрын
the iron will constrate the flux and will produce more power at lower rpm, However, the turbine will have the cogging effect, and will not start at low wind speed.

yes, more turns more voltage. thicker wire the more more amps it can handle.

You can nearly eliminate cogging by putting two less or two more coils on the stator than you have permanent magnets on the rotor. This was invented over 100 years ago but no one does it... except Bill Muller before he died, but he just used one more or less. Al Francour made it better with two more or less. This concept is pretty ideal for a VAWT because the magnets can be mounted on the rim for increased speed (higher voltage).
@emagnets
@emagnets 12 жыл бұрын
i have never seen one built the way you discribe it, but it is possible that the cogging will be reduced.
@ParticleCore
@ParticleCore 12 жыл бұрын
So, basically, the project would be much more efficient if the iron cores would insert themselves (through rpm detection + automatic mechanism) into the coils when the current speed would now cause the cogging effect?

I like the resin encasement of the coils. Do you have any measured results yet? I'm curious about the different between the rotors with the axially perpendicular magnets vs. the ones that are slanted. Is there a case where overlapping field within a single coil could cause a cancellation effect, ultimately reducing total yield?

These amateur hobbyists do not seem to know that by providing laminated silicon plates as cores, instead of non-magnetic wood or plastic, the magnetic flux will greatly increase and also increase the power tremendously. That is why permanent magnet motors and generators have laminated iron cores to increase magnetic flux.

Yust DuckDuckGo (or google) on words like Maxwell (corkscrew rule) Flux and use the internet to learn from others like I do every day. ok, you need to know the reletivity between RPM vs OC VDC output vs LC VDC output.. the AMPS depends on the load chosen, so if you hook up a 12vdc battery to your pma, your amps will not show up on your gauge untill your PMA starts producing over 12vdc. so the first question i am going to ask is, are you storing this dc energy into battery? or is it goibg to an grid tie inverter? sam

No electrical engineer nor many electricians can thrive without understanding basic electron theory and physics and the mathematics to understand them. Do you fully understand Ohm's Law and the corollaries? Remember Electric-Motive Force? Study Tesla and Westinghouse. In nature,nothing's free;even energy. There's always a byproduct. 5-phase power? Hi Meow, The last time I checked there was no book available like "PMAxial Flux generators for dummies" so selfstudy and many hours looking at internet are very recommandable here 😀. However, duckduckgo (alternative google) for terms like maxwell corkscrew rule, faraday and especially muddymuddymuddman on youtube and younwill definately come some steps further in hour adventure. A small hint: a (changing) magnetic field in a coil induces current in a wire (maxwell). The more windings, the more voltage is generated. Too many windings mean that the resistance of the wire will eventuallybspoilnthe fun (power). Current is dependent of Flux (a sophisticated word for magnetic field) so the bigger the magnets, the higher the current will be. Wires are mostly from copper that conduct electricity very well and magnets for axial flux PMG's are mostly neodynium types. My warm advice: first study well before diving in an adventure and BE CAREFUL with those Neodynium magnets. Tey WILL hurt you withe their powerful attracion to iron and ea h other if you let them! Rgards Offgridd
