Thanks man! I bought an ewi second hand, and since I’ve never used an electronic instrument before I found it a real headache to wrap my head around

Dear teacher I need your help please. I am a music teacher at a middle school in Santiago, Chile. I worked as a teacher for more than 33 years and took advantage of the fact that I had some money to buy a second-hand Ewi4000s, about four months ago. I tried to change the sounds with the official program of this instrument. But it doesn't work because my computer is a 64 bit Windows 7. Searching the web I found your page and I discovered in it that there is another Linux program to change the sounds, the Ewitool. Those who do not understand that to make this change, the first step of the video you published must have a bookstore. Are there free sounds on the web that I can use? Or if the Kontak program can be used for free or does it have to be paid for? Thank you very much for your collaboration, I will be very grateful. A hug from Chile.

Hello Juan Kontakt is a great sound library, but its in order to use it with your EWI4000s, you would need a Midi-to-USB adapter/converter cable. There are several types. They may look similar, but the internal traffic of them are what makes the difference. Just dont get the cheapest one because you will experience a substantial amount of lag. The secondary problem is that Windows 7 is no longer being supported on the internet, as far as updates and security are concerned. What im saying is, even if that hardware is compatible, the software updates may no longer be available. You could purchase an external soundbank. For instance, im also a piano player. I would sometimes MIDI my EWI with one of my keyboards and play the keyboard sounds while playing the EWI, as long as they were connected to each other. I know Yamaha Motif sound racks used to be available for sale. You could look into sound modules
