Just a heads up for the people wanting to do the second hike 'Mt Barney' this is a very challenging hike and is not recommended without experience. Make sure you do plenty of research for it as people have had to be rescued from the mountain side.

Rankings are spot on, but if you ever do canarvron gorge again i highly recommend going all the way down and up to battleship spur lookout (28km return) which over looks the whole gorge and is pretty amazing. A must do for semi decent climbers/hikers.

Yes, I will defiantly consider doing that one. Carnarvon Gorge is to amazing not to go back to😁

Good video mate! Barney is an AWESOME hike hey!!! Found South East Ridge to be easier than Peasants. And if you haven't done it yet, try Logans Ridge! That is a fantastic day out!! Just make sure you do it in dry cool weather cos there's little shade and heaps of places to slip on the rocks. LoL

Yeah it is one of the best hikes out there. If we go back for a round 3 it would probably be the west peak. Peasants ridge is a lot longer and also very hard to find from the top if you don't know where it is. The first time we did it we couldn't find it so came back via south east ridge.

I did mt Barny many years ago. The weather was not the best, the south side was slippy as it was wet and when the group i was with, got to the summut, it was in cloud, light rain and very slippy all the way back. Thar was my first intro to bush hiking. The inportant thing i learned, was that weather conditions can and will preodly, change over a few hours. So it wold de wise to take wet weathet gear with you on any hike. Gerard.
