Wye do you think they don’t put the clip point in front of the pen blade so you can get to the pull easier? And just put the pull on the opposite side for the pen blade.I always thought it was a strange setup.

I’ve been wondering the same thing. Frost Cutlery has their blade nail nicks on the opposite side but Rough Ryder has not followed suit yet

The Frost one isn't to bad, for me the winner of the three is the Marbles because of that beautyfull Rams Horn. The RR is nice, but horn and bone i like the most. Thank you for showing.

I have the marbles Rams horn Barlow and the rough Ryder Barlow but I don't know much about the Frost cutlery knife except it looks like most of the knives they make. Lots of air spaces

Great idea to compare three different brands! I like to buy Frosts on eBay, since you can see photos of the actual knife you are buying. I can’t rule Frosts out, since they have some gnarly patterns and covers nobody else makes. They often cost more new than RRs, which is nuts since their QC is so uneven. Of the three, I’d pick the Marbles, for the horn covers. And the lack of the big R. Lol.

Rough rider needs to drop that big are on the bolster. Screws up the look of their knives.

I actually prefer knives with no half-stops. The R on the bolster doesn't really bother me.

I understand the intended functionality of a half stop but honestly I really only like the sound of a good half stop hah!

The more gold the bolsters look, means that they have more copper in them and less nickle. Copper is cheaper. If the Rough Rider didn't have that ugly R on it, I'd buy one.

I just got my ram horn barlow. Not as nice as your. Yours has better walk and talk. And your covers look even. Mine is much bigger on one side. Good knife for the money though. I just ordered a frost barlow.. Hope its a good one.

The old Frost Cutlery knives were of a better quality. I have a dozen or so. Check out Japan Knives Direct for nice engraving/inlay of old MOP canoe Frosts!
