Hi Alex! I use metal rods that I recycle from refrigerator racks, clothing racks, umbrellas and everything similar! You can use threaded rod, 4-gauge iron, galvanized or aluminum! You can also use wood, when I started weaving with the skewers! or you can compare in lumber! There is no standard of rods for mandalas!! If you have to take into account that the fabric generates pressure, so the larger the mandala, the more resistant they should be! greetings
