One tip I got from OG vangaurd was be ok to take damage this goes with every card game best quote is from MTG "life is a resource" dont worry since " there is no difference from a game won at 6 life and one won at 1 life" so manage your life just as you would your energy, field and Hand

Best tip I can give for any card game is to periodically look up at your opponent and squint after looking at your hand.

thanks for this, it's helpful, but it's also learnable just by playing games. you wonder 'why is my opponent not attacking me', you watch while they have 8 cards in their hand while you have 3, you watch them play their hand in pieces, after they try to spice up and attack with their leader

I had a Broly vs Broly game he dropped 2 8 brolys on me was ahead 2 energy. Just because I didn't give up with 1 life left I managed to pull a android and win with a double strike. Never even got to reach 8 energy

Do you think you could make a video that kind of contextualizes some “core” TCG principles, as they apply to DBS? I play both MTG and Yugioh, and I’m having a lot of trouble understanding card advantage and card economy in this game; this video definitely helped already in just solidifying that “attackers have advantage at equal stats” means your opponent will have to commit more to win the fight. My issue though is just how many cards you draw and how freely you draw them, and the way that hitting your opponents life adds cards to their hand. I have a hard time evaluating the board state because I feel like attacking my opponent will generate them more resources to hurt me next turn (unless I have the Critical keyword). Something about the game is interesting to me, but I’m just having a really difficult time grasping what the general flow of the game should be (and this is coming from a relatively experienced TCG player).

Big thing i can say from playing One Piece for awhile and playing alot of TCGs of varying natures. You have to control the board and wipe characters when given the opprutunity. Also know when not to attack with your character. SO say your opp hasa rested character at 20k power. you hvae a 20k power character and are at 20k as lead(whether awakened or as broly) here itd be more benficial to swing with Leader and leave your character active to not give them a target. Theres a lot to it really, takes time and practice. Also look at your hand size as your life pool and not your life. Also dont over commit in saving characters ethier. sometimes its worth it but a lot of the time you can get punished for it. The big core tcg principal i can say is resource mangament is still important and looks not much different then MTG in ways.

Very funny to see "magic numbers" refered to as a One Piece idea because to me that's a pretty old Vanguard term 😅

Can you explain on why not to attack a bit deeper?
@OliverTCG12439 ай бұрын
okay since this video is a month old ill try my best to explain it to you. Bascially decks start popping off when they awaken since their leader gets an additional ability. If you dont attack them you are taking them into a more stally kind of game where you lock them out of their awakening if you get what im saying. its more for stall decks that need to ramp energy to make value plays rather than aggro for example.
@jesselynds54119 ай бұрын
@@OliverTCG1243 it depends on the deck. he mentions frieza because frieza is all about blockers, destroying rested battle cards, and activated your own rested battle cards. you are wasting potential by a) playing some of those cards early and b) giving you opponent many extra cards. you win with frieza by playing a game of attrition, and unless you're playing frieza vs frieza, that means, playing your cards that dont trigger forced rests, trying to destroy their battle cards. a lot of frieza's cards have draw on play, draw on ko, do something else on ko, as well as a lot of 'destroy rested cards' on play, giving you the late game advantage, because frieza's starter deck is the only deck that can kill things that cost over 5 without battling
