I went through a bit of a camping pillow saga a year ago. Started with Sea To Summit's foam core pillow, but as a side sleeper I was constantly waking up with a pinched nerve in my neck. Otherwise it was great and supportive and comfy. Then a Nemo Filo, but it wasn't quite stable enough. Then a large Thermarest compressible pillow which was amazing, no different to being at home. But it had a huge pack size. I then got the small compressible pillow that was too small and not high enough. Finally I got the medium which is great. With the compressible pillows, you can pull the cord in the back which tightens it and stops it squashing as much so it maintains more height.

@@doraarnold5718 I actually recently went back to the Filo as my main pillow. If you just don't inflate it all the way it is more stable and comfortable. I was doing it wrong! I quite like it now

Good review. The Kilos is a winner to me by looks. The strap, cover and size contribute to this. I live in pain and a good pillow is supreme for comfortable rest. I traveled on the road for work a good portion of 28 years plus my motorcycle travels of many years now. When I could I took my home pillow with me. Also I have used a 13 inch square inflatable pillow with a homemade flannel cover for over 40 years. I have a couple exactly the same. Coligans seems the brand. Inexpensive but packs small light flat as a pancake and light. But these new ones are certainly better and more comfotable. I have a couple. So a try of the Kilos will be instore. All good. Hey Sam yes I really like this one.. If you need to save weight you can remove the cover and it's 70g lighter.. Still as comfortable but no sleeping pad strap... Best wishes Tom

Hey Tom I've had countless pillows over the years.the depth of the pillow is the main thing for me as a side sleeper I use the seats summit now but in large it would be perfect if it had a pad strap.

Yes they have velcro which attaches to a sea to summit sleeping pad but obviously no use on other pads... I really like mine though and as I said I just stick it in the hood of my sleeping bag... best wishes Tom

@@El-Jefe Hi its a tough one... I suppose the Thermarest is slightly more natural in feel compared to an air pillow... It does compress a bit though with the weight of your head so the air pillows are higher and better for side sleepers... I do change my opinion if new gear comes out and its better than previous gear...I hope that helps its as straight an answer as I can give... 😁

Pillows. Could become an addiction trying to find the perfect one that balances comfort, pack size and weight. I also find some are stupidly expensive for what they are. I’ve tried a few and keep coming back to the Trekology Aluft 2.0. Cheap, lightish (100g), small pack size, comfortable, comes with a pad strap and great for side sleepers Only question mark is durability. The valves can be suspect.

Hi Gary, well I think I am pretty happy here.. I really like the Kilos gear one but also the Sea To Summit.. One for comfort one for ultralight....I liked the Trekology but it deflated so kind of lost confidence in it.. It will be good to try out the Kilos gear over many camps as as you know it can take a few camps to really decide... best wishes and thank you for the detailed comment as usual.. Tom

I'm still fighting with my thermarest compressible pillow, ordered a sheet for it, hoping to stuff it with down jacket and maybe something else. Yes, it compresses when I lay my head onto it which I guess was designed to work like that (it's called compressible) but no one really wants that. I move around before falling asleep a lot, and those air pillows just don't work well when I am on the stomach since they aren't compressible at all so the head is pushed backwords which isn't that great. Thermarest may want to make less compressible pillow but we all know it's going to weight a pound 😂

I understand but dont forget its camping after all and some comfort sacrifices have to be made.. I do fine the sea to summit and Kilos gear pillows the best that I have used so far.. Hopefully you will find a solution.... best wishes and thank you for the comment... Tom.

Must be some way of propping one up a bit.. Believe it or not I have sometimes for many nights used my camping pillow at home to train myself to get more comfortable with it... Best wishes Tom

Hi it's a Sony ZV E10 with the standard kit lens.. Used Sony for years and I actually dropped this one onto tarmac and it still works perfectly.. Best wishes Tom
