You explained the pedal press earlier and I have tried it. It was a game changer! Cornering faster, with more confidence, or asking myself why I did brake that hard before the corner. For me it feels like bringing the knee of the back foot a lot further forward, creating that triangle. I also found a video of another youtuber weighting how much pressure there is on the front wheel. By lifting the heel of your back foot you presure like trice as much on your front wheel, without using your hands. Thanks for the nice videos!

I used to ride with feet flat on the pedals and I would lose grip and my stance wasn’t firm and I would question myself why. My legs and core (whole body) are strong from doing weight lifting in all my 20’s so I knew it wasn’t a strength issue. I tried the pedal press for the first time and I saw the big difference. I noticed a difference on my hands/arms too. Like less pressure and less tension. May feet are more grounded and firm. I actually feel more in control now. It works! ✅

I implemented peddle press a few months ago after watching this channel. Initially it was hard to adjust but now I ride so much better. Lighter on my hands, better absorption by legs over fast rock gardens and my feet dont slip. I can't beleive I never heard of it before or even thought about it!

Glad to help! I hear this a lot from folks lol.

Great Video as always. Im starting to implement the pedal platform more into my riding, and the balance you get is insane. I sometimes try to ride with no hands while standing up (without tucking seat) and can actually do this for 1 to 2 seconds, because of the pedal platform. Never thought that would even be posible to do

This ss the BEST coaching channel so far!I saw many and regret that didnt this was made before,I would spare few years of suffering on "hinge" and other crap advices. Just to ask,I always press pedals on the ball of my foot,bottom of fingers.On pause I saw Yours are bit towards middle of the foot. So this is correct position?
@mountainbikeacademy3 ай бұрын
Glad you like it! Pedal position is subjective. I have the axle of the pedal behind the ball of my foot by a small amount.

True. How many riders try this and can’t because they hold their feet in a way that isn’t as supportive?

I contacted Trek surport . They said my bike is intended for trail rides only. It says for competition use on the handle bars, but that is a standard sticker they put on their bikes. Ok so now I get it as I've been trying to jump it on baby jumps. It's not intended for it at all. I will pump them now and be happy with it. I will now save for a full suspension ebike designed for jumps.

like 1 out of 10 people MTBs in USA, i dont believe this? 40 million, comon... maybe 1 out 10 saw an MTB in his life. no offence, but i cannot believe it. I live in Switzerland where people are really active, lots of trails and MTBs, and not even here 1 out 10 people MTBs.

You may be right- there’s lots of studies that agree 8-9 million individuals ride per year. I saw one that showed how many PARTICIPANTS there were and it said 40 mil. I’m an expert in cornering not statistics lol.

Trail counts don't look at unique riders, only total numbers, so if some one is lapping a track, they count multiple times. If you look at total sales, which I haven't, I wouldnt be surprised to see mountain bikes making up a large percentage of total bikes sales, but the fact that someone owns an xc bike doesn't mean that they ride trails, a lot of people just want the suspension to commute, or to pedal to the pub.
