Omg an Appalachian vid! That's nearly as rare a find as your Ravenmocker coverage (my mother really enjoyed that btw...lots of Cherokee on Mom's side of the family)! It can be beautiful but plenty eerie here in eastern KY...especially the hollers. Dark even in daytime. But Darkness, a teensy whinge...it's appaLATCHin. Annnd now I feel like a Southern Hermione Granger, but my late Appalachian writer/educator uncle would come knocking if I didn't say something. 😅
You did an awesome job with this, you’ve really upped your A-game.

I live in NW Georgia, appx 1 hour from the Chattahoochee National forest and the Cohutta Wilderness. I went camping by myself near Bear Creek, in the Cohuttas, the day after Christmas in 2017. I got a late start and didn't have much time to hike in before dark. I took a well established trail to a ridge and then decided to set up my hammock about 150 yards down the side of the ridge, to avoid seeing early hikers and bikers on the trail the next morning. It was a very steep and slippery walk from the trail to my campsite. I slid several times. After I got set up and processed my firewood, dark quickly followed, and with it came a minute of the most terrifying person/animal screaming Ive ever heard. It came from the ridge to the Northeast of my camp, appx 1/2 mile away. Ive never heard anything like it in my life and it was so unnerving that I would have packed up and left if I thought I could find the trail in the dark. I quickly made my dinner and got in the hammock. Appx midnight, a massive thunderstorm rolled in. It rained so hard that I had to stay awake and deal with the water pooling up on my tarp. The intensity of the storm was such that the lightning flashed with such frequency as to illuminate all the woods around me. At the peak of the storm, the color and frequency of the lightning appeared to change to a constant, blood red light illuminating the entire area. The red light was stationary and lasted appx 3 minutes. It seemed like it was coming from the ridge above me, in a large open area, near where the trail was. I also heard what sounded like the thudding steps of a massive creature coming from the vicinity of the red light. I grabbed my 9MM from my pack and prayed. I knew I was about to die and no one would know where or what happened to me because I set my camp up in such an inaccessible location. The red light diminished and the storm moved on. After a while I fell back asleep. When I got up the next morning I was damp and the temps had dropped below freezing. I packed up and began trying to get back to the trail. The rain and fall leaves made the climb back up horribly difficult. Pretty much on all 4's the whole way up. That is when it hit me: If I had camped in the opening, on the ridge, near the trail I don't think I would have made it though the night. Whatever cast the red light seemed to have been in this cleared area above me and I still believe the difficulty of accessing my makeshift campsite is the only reason I am here today.

Nothing for monsters, but I have been stalked by a cougar before (which is still not fun). I've encountered 2 cougars in my life (the first was when I was a little kid out with my dad on a hunting trip, as a kid I prefered going with him instead of sitting at home), I'd rather not encounter a 3rd cougar, since they say 3rd time's a charm.

Funny I'm spending the night alone in a house that had been abandoned for about 40 years before my mother bought it. It is still kind of abandoned as nobody lives here but my mother comes every so often. I decided to spend the night here as I was too tired to continue the drive to her place. Ironically these videos keep me distracted and I don't hear the strange sounds I heard last time I was here. I live in the southern part of West Virginia, very near the Kentucky, and Virginia borders. The mountains are as thick as it gets here. I love it, but I hope I NEVER run into one of these things. I like to coyote hunt, alone at night. Wish me luck..... I don't plan on quitting, anytime soon. Unless..... I've had some eeeery feelings out there before. The woods get extremely quite, and things just don't FEEL right. Ya know??? But, I always shake it off, and keep hunting. Except for one particular night, my heart was racing, as I hurried back to my truck. I haven't went back to THAT SPOT at night, since then. Coyotes are the ONLY animal that I've ever seen in this particular area. I find that kinda strange, in itself. Not even birds. Except crows.

On the assumption that story 2 was about a wendigo than this is something terrible, I have a terrible feeling that that wendigo somehow had an infectious bite and the worst part is when I think about it, it makes sense since there can't be that many people starving to death in the woods these days so it would make sense in a very horrifying way that they are able to do that and why there's so many sightings.

Well I am gonna be brutally honest. In the first story while your brother did fight to protect you in a valiant way. He did make a serious tactical mistake by not having a firearm. His former Gunny would have yelled at him for not having a gun on him while taking you into an area that has Bears, Coyotes, Panther and Wild Boar. I know you love him but he did make a major mistake and you were both lucky to escape. Type 2 Bigfoots rarely travel alone. And if their would have been a group of them. Both of you would have not escaped without the gun. To the second story. To be frank dude. You did a boneheaded move. You don't go hunting what is killing your livestock without 1 having a firearm and 2 having a small armed group to help with the hunt. It is a miracle that Rake did not kill and eat you. My suggestion get a gun and get some armed and trained people and set a trap for that creature. They can be killed but you have to plan for how to do it.

maineking94 if "true" is highlighted in the title, then the channel is making a claim that doesn't stand up to basic standards of in/consistency. Some channels (Rusty West, Dogman Encounters) feature content that's much more compelling, hence believable. I have had my share of paranormal experiences and know others also have. Nothing wrong with wanting to hear true stories that actually are just that.
