I’m doing this now - I first tried a braided wig but it came out too bulky- took it apart and crocheted them just at the perimeter but the top part is see through so I have a knitted see through tam hat so I had to make a bonnet to sew in the hat with material I use to make headbands with - i’m not wasting my money lol

one pack of hair can be enough if you don't want it too full, but I recommend 2-3 depending on how much hair is in each pack.

Apologies for the late reply. I suggest to hand wash the hat and let air dry. Since it’s sewn with needle and thread, it’ll hold up well after washing.

Sorry for the late reply. I have not tried it with glue because glue tends to wear over time, but I have seen some people using hot glue to get a similar look.

Depending on the type of hat you use, it may be hard to pass the crochet and hair hook through or passing them through might make it the hat material loose. You can always test it with one and see how it turns out!
