I remember when Binion's Horseshoe Casino had $6.99 all you could eat crab legs, you could even add a big steak for a couple of dollars. Of course this was back in the early 80's when Vegas was all about value and taking care of the guests.

No such thing. I don't really like any buffets. Even the $70 buffets aren't all that good. The only time I go is when I want an AYCE, or when I'm making a video for tourists.

I was in southpoint last year for 3 days of my stay. I ate at the Coronado for most of my meals. They were reasonably priced normally and the overnight selection was downright inexpensive. Overall it cost like my normal meals around here(IL aka midwest pricing). Going on the strip they charged about double of nearly everything at Southpoint. Overall it was impressive!

Thanks for making this review! I like the Coronado a lot. I like ordering the mashed potatoes with beef gravy, lol. I also like the Chinese menu, the honey walnut shrimp and the sea bass. How is the Pancake Sandwich? There used to be a coffee shop at the Golden Gate in Downtown-Fremont Street. It was called the Bay City Diner. They had a great & cheap pancake sandwich (pan san) over there… Tragically, the coffee shop is long gone. Also tragically long gone is there shrimp cocktail cafeteria/piano bar area

Don't come Friday or Saturday morning tho. The wait line is like 30 - 40 mins long! You are right about the quality because couple of times I went there , the food was old and cold but still a great deal if you are on budget.

There's only a few now. My favorites are the graveyard specials at Ellis Island and South Point. Other than that it's not the kind of deals like in the old days. Unless you go to the east side of town to the smaller hotels. But it's not that cheap anymore, but food quality is. You can check this video ... been to the cafe a few times when i had a 6 am flight. for 4 am that place was pretty busy. the steak and eggs were ok, but i recall it being smaller than in your video. for $5 can't complain too much . the buffet is always packed , probably because of the players card discount it offers

1965? You just didn't know where to go. I've had good steaks for $2.99... as recent as the 90's The Rio had a 16oz T-bone for $2.99 (90s), Skyline had good prime rib for $10 (80s & 90s), Frontier had good prime rib, California, 4 Queens, Arizona Charlie's, Ellis Island, Palace Station, Nevada Palace, Orleans, and many more. Good quality under 5 bucks... back in the days.

Yup. Most of the coffee shop steaks are similar. One exception would be Ellis Island. But nowadays the prices come into play... restaurant prices are way up there now.

A long time go they had some $1.99 steak deals in Vegas. Now there are none. The cheapest that I know of is $5.99 (South Point Hotel), $6.99 (Arizona Charlie's), $7.99 (Ellis Island).

It's pretty good. A lot of people like South Point. The prices aren't cheap unless you do the graveyard hours. But they have some decent restaurants in there besides the Coronado Cafe

This is exactly the time when you order your steak RARE and you don't feel guilty about asking for the bottle of A1. I love the taste of A1 but would not ruin a prime steak with it. For 5+change, how can you beat this? I love the unlimited toast concept. I bet the walls of this place could tell a lot of adventures.

Was here Sunday morning at 2am. I don't recommend it. Low quality ingredients. Scrambled eggs tasted slimy. Hash Browns were made of low quality potatoes. Sausage links were disgusting. Outer sausage link skin tasted like dry paper. At the same time, can I really complain to the waitress or the hotel over $4? I just took one bite of sausage link, egg, and has brown and then just paid $6($4.40 for food and $1.60 for tip) and left. Never coming back to Coronado Cafe for food. Rather spend more money and get something else. My experience and my opinion.
