Was on my way to the parts store when I saw this. Jacking up the wrench was the best thing ever. Thanks!

Another worthy note is to use impact sockets instead of normal ones. Using the breaker bar wrench idea I broke 3 regular sockets. Im not kidding you, they cracked open like freakin' butter and the caliper bracket bolt didn't budge. However, it worked like a charm with an impact socket I bought at Lowes. Btw.. Lowes sells individual sockets. I didn't know that until today.

Yep impact sockets also sit tighter bringing more force into the bolt.

Did that on mine last week, snapped the bolt clean off inside the carrier as the bolt was severely seized. I've now got to drill it out or replace the carrier. Stumbled across this video looking for ways to get out snapped seized bolts lol My advice, use that as a last resort and don't forget to use penetrating oil to help release siezed bolts. If the spanner moves too much without releasing the bolt, stop and use heat. Seperate the caliper so you can remove the disc and heat up the far end of the sized bolt till red and squirt with penetrating fluid and let it completely cool down and try again.

BRILLIANT !! Two 6'4 guys using all our power , massive hammers, heat. WD 40, pipes, COULD NOT UNSEAL the two bolts that were solid as a weld job. But this video, with the idea to use an additional car jack to push up on the wrench WORKED !!! It saved our day after an hour of pulling our hair out . THANK YOU !! What a great solution..

sometimes jacking up the car as high as possible safely and using a very long breakerbar (or pipe) and stepping on it has worker for me plenty of times with stubborn bracket bolts.

Nice! Saved about $400 bucks on a right angle impact wrench I was about to buy for this shit! 🤘😎🤘

Yeah, don't do like I did and forget to turn the wheel out so you can get a breaker bar or wrench w/ pipe on it.
@ruhul39025 жыл бұрын
Failed on mine. No space to put breaker bar. Never thought about turning the wheel which would have meant I could...

I forgot to turn the wheel last week won't forgot tomorrow though lol

I specifically searched KZbin to see if anyone ever tried the jack method in the event I can't get any leverage and it looks like you were successful. What precautions do you recommend? Flying tools? Slippage? Jack handle hitting the car? Thanks !

johnny b. goode use a Beauty fit 6 point socket and a breaker bar. Apply liquid wrench or heat. Tap the socket snug on the head of the bolt and gently apply hydraulic pressure. You'll either break it loose or break it off. I did this method with caliper mounting bracket bolts on my truck cus I just couldn't get the basterds off in my driveway

Also be sure to be using a 6 point wrench or socket and not a 12 point. The 12 point will be sure to strip the head.

Well that was pretty much useless. Tried using option 1, and I'm no weakling. I snapped a wheel stud last week trying to get a cross-threaded lug nut off just using a star lug wrench. For option 2, there is not enough clearance between the bolt head and outside of the fender, it's kind of tucked back in there. Option 3 won't work because the calipers sit on the front side of the wheel. jacking it up would tighten the bolt.
@emilymares96235 жыл бұрын
remember to turn the wheel so that you have more clearance and use the double wrench so the angle is a little more accessible :)

Jacking up the wrench doesn’t work when you gotta push down to loosen it?
@tlvmotorsport3463 жыл бұрын
To loosen should be pretty easy doing it by hand
@sfcd47573 жыл бұрын
turn the wheel the other way and put the wrench on the opposite side...up will loosen on one side...tighten on the other
