The thing is with ancelotti we had a 4-3-3 attack or 442 diamond with alonso kross modric or khedira as midfield and one offensive midfielder who could be isco di maria or james. When Zidane came there was blooming modric, a rising casemiro an established kross so he decided on a holding midfielder and two supporting. Because james was more used to offensive midfield and couldn’t play on the wing, he didn’t receive minutes as isco who could play as either supporting midfielder or wing. In short james was great as an offensive midfielder but isco was wayy more versatile

Busquets was slower then Yaya and you saw it in Europe, after Iniesta and Xavi retired the team was done cause Busi was too slow. A big team is scarry and the small teams will only defend, that's the base of tiki taka, in La Liga 70-80% of the time Barcelona would attack and the other team like Alaves would defend around the penalty area and Busquets was magic there but when they went out in Europe and played against tough teams like Chelsea they had problems cause Busquets was too slow and not strong enough. Compare him with Casemiro, Yaya or Rodri, the player that Pep is using now on a similar position - was stronger and faster.
