P S oh yes, I watch a lot of these and think how easy these professionals with years of training make it look. On and off I’ve been working on the famous painting “Girl with a Pearl Earring” for 3 years, but when I try and use the information like I’ve looked at today, it most certainly will not go the same. I will not give up on this though because I’ve already put too much into it! She may not look quite the same at the girl but it will be my version!

@@lustenhouwer Yes.You have two full portraits: the blonde girl and the woman in green. Also others 20 minutes long: not the whole process but very useful and full with clear content. Sorry; I was thinking of other 1-2 hour tutorials available on youtube; but most of them are landscapes, much easier; or master classes by artists who lack your ability to focus on the key points without filler. Some even complain of not being able to paint and talk at the same time, though they teach in academies. Also, I just watched the video 0on how to start a portrait in oil.You start from taking the measures in the photo, etc... and realized that time is compressed, so the viewer has to set the speed of the video to 1/3, and it becomes a long tutorial of some 30 minutes. Paying attention to every action of the painter and making sure that you understand why it is done makes the lesson even longer and full with more content that you have to absorb...
